W211 front suspension still down (after start up), investigate the scenario
SubscribeHi
I have a small question, does a bad leaking valve block causes that the two front struts won't going up ?! ( The rear struts is raised up normally ).
In other words, whats the possible scenarios making the two frontal suspensions from going up ?!
Thx

Check for leaks at each strut and valve block. Spray with soapy water mixture , wait for approx. 10 to 15 minutes after spraying the pressure line connections this allows smaller leaks to be detected (bubbles form).

Thanks so much for the response, am trying to imagine the scenario itself Originally Posted by konigstiger

A malfunction in the valve block for the front struts.Originally Posted by zamax517

Or missing air supply for the same.
Do you get a RED warning : Car too low ?
If not, it could also be the ride height electronics not working right.

What are the ride height electronics responsible for !?Originally Posted by SLcharge

The Airmatic is controlled by a module who receives signals from height sensors in the wheel arc. These sensors are connected to the upper wishbone, and tell the system the height of each corner. If they fail, the car will sack without any error coming up.

I dont know it is related or not but small question, is the spare tire when be in one of two frontal sides causes this problem ? I mean when the spare tire installed in front left wheel for example, is it causes this problem ?!

Hi,
Can I ask, what happened with this issue? I have the same problem with my S211 (Estate) 320CDI; the front suspension won't rise high enough to clear the wings.
I have studied the airmatic system and one thing I found out, was that the valve block is just a block the allows all the lines to be connected to the compressor. It doesn't have separate channels for each strut. Whether or not air is being pumped into a strut is determined by a valve on the strut itself.
What I can't figure out is why my front ones won't rise properly. Did you manage to solve your problem?
Kind regards,
Bard Thomas
