No! It went from working intermittently to not at all. I bought both left and right sending units off ebay for about $50 USD each. I believe they were both defective and received refunds on both. I believe they came from china. One seller refund and let me keep and I reinstalled my old one on the driver side because I was get a CEL that once not there prior too. Once the old driver side sending unit was reinstalled CEL has been gone for good all systems has been ready for sometime now. I can say with the Chinese parts it did work 90% of the time after driving for ten minutes the guage did kick in and start working, but the CEL was a no go (can not get state inspection). If I ever get the fund I will walk into the stealership and try OEM parts!!

I've become more and more of the opinion that it's better to just pony up the money for the OEM parts from the get-go. I have my own fuel gauge issue at the moment. Earlier this week after a fill up, the gauge was reading a full tank even after 150 miles. Was doing the same thing when I left for work this morning. By the time I got there, it was reading empty but no "reserve fuel" warning. Hopefully the icarsoft scanner and workshop manual I just bought will be delivered soon. Add this to my evap leak and flaky climate control that needs sorted. Stuff is breaking faster than I can fix it.

I'm selling mine next month. The maintenance is too expensive verse the value of the car is just not worth it. I paid $2,200 for mine with 158,000 miles.

Mine had many issues when I bought a few months ago. Many of which I was able to sort out. The MB specific scanners helps a lot.

After searching over the weekend, I'm left with the feeling that there isn't a way to replace the right side fuel level sending unit without replacing the entire main fuel pump. And the main fuel pump is kinda pricey

I allowed myself to get my hopes up yesterday after I filled the gas tank and had the gauge go from no reading to full. And even more hopeful when I say it drop just over 3/4 full after about 70 miles. But alas, by the time I got close to home, it went right back up to full again. Oh well. Got my new icarsoft scanner yesterday and had enough time to run the software update. I'll see what it tells me when I get home tonight,

Driving Ford truck and MB sedans in the family, I compare the prices.
Ford dealers are always giving me 20% discounts on parts, while I am buying MB parts from internet suppliers.
To date no comparable part for MB come more expensive than Ford part.
Famous was Ford turbo seal kit, where couple of orings, bolt and clips cost $80.
I bought whole turbo rebuild kit for MB for less than $50.

Hooked up the icarsoft v2.0 tonight and I learned that I probably need to learn more about using it. Took a few minutes of scanning modules for fault codes before I figured out that rear SAM looks like where the fuel level sensors are. I've tried searching for a bit but didn't find a whole lot about P203a-008.

That's historic code. Clear it and recheck a day later.
Now can you access live data on tank?

I went back out last night and pulled this data and by the time I got to work, the fuel gauge was reading about 2/3, where it normally would be having driven that many miles after a fill up. Is it even possible that pulling the live data and erasing the historic codes could "fix" a problem like this? Guessing I would have to have the scanner hooked up while the fuel gauge has stopped displaying info to see which component is faulty?

Weird. Hook up the icarsoft when the fuel gauge goes to zero again. It could be that the electrical plug at the passenger side of the fuel tank is bad. That would lose both left and right level sensor signals.
