Curvematic? What's that all about!
Ok..
So, I'm reading through the NAVIGATION section of my newly acquired Euro-spec COMMAND manual last night..
..the manual makes reference to the [NAV], [MODE] settings, which is where you select the "Route" type: Fast route, Dynamic route, or Short route; and, if you press the right arrow, you are taken to the "Avoid" submenu, where you choose which routes to avoid: Freeways, Tunnels, Tolls, etc...
..well.. so far so good. I'm likin' the toy.. so I go out to my w211 to try a few things, when I notice that on my COMMAND, I have a third submenu: CURVEMATIC. The options are: 'CURVEMATIC ON', 'ON BY NIGHT', or 'CURVEMATIC OFF'.
What is that all about? The manual has nothing on it, not even an index. I checked the MBUK site, and even did an internet search, but.. nada.. nothing.. zilch.. niet.
What does it do? CURVEMATIC? The name doesn't even seem to relate to NAVIGATION!
Anyone?

..yeah..
..I went through that same, exact reasoning process..
I too figured it had something to do with the active headlights, but no. When I first discovered the option it was set to "CURVEMATIC off", yet the active headlights had been working flawlessly.
I've since turned the option on, and left it on. Haven't noticed anything different though.
Maybe it's just something that works with the European wiring, but not with the US stuff. -- -- Either way, I'm still be curious to know what it's "supposed" to do.

Your car is prepared for the "next generation" active headlights where the control of the movement of the headlights comes from the Navigation System rather then from the turn of the wheel. ...........

That'll be real fun for the guys whose Nav is off by a block in Manhattan.

I don't know about the headlights. However I expect within 10 years or so vehicle speed will be regulated by the nav system.

...the curvematic menu comes with the latest comand update that gives the euro comands MP3 compatibility...with this update the comand gets several additional variable settings in the comand stardiagnose screens and one of these additional settings in the radio menu is SCAN...when SCAN is switched on it les me change the curvematic setting in the comand's nav menu in the comand...when SCAN is switched off it doesn't let me change the curvematic settings in the nav menu of the comand.
With that said, I still don't know what curvematic is about...

Apparently they are just working out some kinks in the production line. Making sure there are no errors, etc. I think a big batch is being cut and finished right now, as mine are supposed to be done by friday. From there, tho, they need to get clear coated (my selected finish on top of brushed), and that takes 3 days tops. So next week should be it FINALLY!
