09 e350 ABS ESP inoperative see operators man: How to reset or read code?

I was driving about 10 mph and the drivers front wheel ABS kicked in, it pulsed a couple of times. right after, I got the error listed above. power steering seems to be much harder.

I have checked with OBD but no codes come up. I have tried to reset the trunk battery. I tried to remove auxilary battery but it does not appear my car has one. I cleaned the wheel sensor , it was quite dirty.

review of old threads mentions replacing abs sensor on that wheel.

Does anyone know any clues about this?

There'll be codes but you'll need a better scanner than a cheap one to read them. That's where to start though.

so with a nicer tool I found the wheel sensor value is implausable. i cleaned sensor but was told the other end was in the axle. I heard that corrosion causes problems. Any tips? New axle?

Search the old threads. It either the sensor or the seal. Only use MB parts, aftermarket doesn't seem to work right. I don't think you need to replace the axle, it's the seal.

I believe they say it's a magnetic ring. If you give the dealer your vin, you should get the right part.
