Tire rotation and the TPMS
When rotating tires, do you need to keep each sensor in its original location?
For example, if I wanted to rotate the RF tire to the RR position, can I just swap wheels?
Will this affect the TPMS since the RF sensor will now be in the RR position, and the RR sensor will now be in the RF position?
If this affects the TPMS, then that would require unmounting and remounting tires, thus allowing the sensors to stay in their original positions.
The sensors must be specifically coded to maintain their independent readings; however, how would the computer know that you moved the RF sensor to the RR position by swapping wheels?
The RF pressure reading on the display screen may then be truly reflective of the RR tire pressure since a wheel swap was performed.Happy Saturday! Cheers
