2003 E240 - P0101 Fault after overtaking - Limp Mode
I currently had the P0101 fault code pop up. My understanding is that the P0101 is a MAF intermittent fault. I have searched the forum for possible fixes however just wanting to explain how this fault came about.
As I was accelerating to pass a car the engine went into limp mode(auto gearbox was in a high rev range). car had no acceleration and I had pulled over. I restarted the car to see if the fault had gone away. limp mode was not present and I could still drive the car. Engine light still present.
The car idle seems to be a little lower than normal. when idling stationary and taking off it seems like a small misfire until the revs go up then the car seems to drive. (only when I get to s stationary position). When the car is idling and gear is in neutral I can give the car a slight rev and there doesn't seem to be a misfire of any sort. When stationary and I turn the AC on the revs drops and the car has a rougher idle.
Would this still be related to a MAF issue?
I will inspect the MAFs and clean it to see what happens.
MAF sensor disconnected:
pin1 to ground (pin 3) continuity i have continuity 800-1200ohms.
no continuity on other pins or signal wires. From sensor ground pin.
While Car running.
i have a 12v supply from pins 2-3
pin 1 i get 1.1v - maf sign wire
pin 4 i get 5v
pin 5 i get 1.1v - maf signal wire
while reving i thought these values should change?
is this correct?
does that confirm the MAF sensor needs replacing?
