Question about wheel locks

For those who've purchased the wheel locks, how many keys did you get? Also, where do you keep it/them? Any special place in the car to keep one, like BMWs have? (I know it's better not to keep the key in the car, but I'm just wondering if there is a spot for it.)

If you don't keep the key in the car, what happens when you get a flat tire and want to change it?

I don't believe in wheel locks. First, it affects tire balance. Second, if they're stolen (rarely happens nowadays, they take the whole car) I have insurance & get new wheels & tires.

To some extent. However, the slight difference of the weight of the locks from the weight of the other lugs, coupled with the small distance from the center of rotation might not have that much affect. Especially since the most significant mass of the wheel is in the barrel. I bet the inaccuracies of the weight placement by the technician during balancing of the wheel would have more inertial affect, but I could be wrong.

So back to the original question... how many keys come with the wheel locks?

My sets from the dealer have one key...and I keep it in the trunk with the tire or jack stuff. If the car needs tire work I think the tech would look there first.

Wheel locks come with only 1 key. :)

Keep mine with the Jack in the boot but its the most obvious place for a thief.
Taping it under the seat or somewhere less obvious would be more precautionary. Well they have to get into the car first to find it.....and then look. Breaking the boot lock and finding the key is easy picking. The Mcard locks come with one key and you can register it with company to retrieve if its lost.
