Mercedes E350
Vibration issues
I have 2007, E350 avant-garde with 90,000 km and new Michelin pilot sport 5 tyres . I have had Mercedes-Benz do two wheel balance and alignments and I’ve had the wheels re-rounded but I cannot get rid of this vibration through the seat on certain roads at higher speeds. At low speeds, I can’t feel anything, but it just doesn’t feel right… Mercedes-Benz service advisor, drove it round the block and said it felt normal to him… Any suggestions? I would be most grateful.

If they performed a standard balance request road force balance.

thank you I will check however they said they used the best factory equipment and the technician was very knowledgeable

the mileage is one thing, but the age of your vehicle is another. You probably ought to start with the easier and less expensive transmission mount inspection and replacement. You are likely getting a vibration through the steering wheel?

I bet your steering vibration comes from freeplay in the front end. Rear end can produce vibrations as well but not in the steering.

Get your LOWER CONTROL ARMs replaced. Front only, or back only or better all four now and be done already with only a single 4-wheel alignment instead or two, back to back!

almost none through the steering wheel… I will certainly get them to look at the transmission mounts
