Resistor vs Non-Resistor Spark Plugs

Hi All. Looking for plugs for the '03 E500, saw various online stores come up with resistor (Bosch 7422) AND non-resistor (BERU) plugs to fit this car. There's also a price differential. I've always used 7422. I understand non-resistor plugs produce more spark. But if both are listed to fit the same car, which is correct if not both? Both are labeled OEM. What's the story?

They are both Mercedes OEM suppliers doesn't mean the genuine MB part is made by either of them.

A lot of half-baked defective or untested parts are floating all around the supply chain.

The dealer parts is the one you xan trust to ve feniine and tested to perform as required.

There's a reason why eBay and the independent MB dealer parts are priced apart: "copy cat" vs. "guaranteed genuine"

Thanks for the bit about the OEM designation. While I understand about flakey, suspect parts, maybe I should have been more specific. The plugs I referred to are Bosch and Beru, recognized quality mfgs, being sold on recognized dealers (FCP).

The question was admittedly technical...the difference and recommendation between resistor vs non-resistor plugs.

This is correct. Always purchase at dealer.

This is incorrect. Never purchase anything from the dealer unless you enjoy getting ****ed.

combustion ---> resistor plugs + O2-Lambda

RESISTOR IS WHAT YOU NEED.

Non-resistor create fewer unlimited spikes that drain the coil magnetic charge faster into a shorter series of spark - Not good!

Having a 8K carbon resistor built in helps spread the spark event a little longer.

I don't think any main street modern engine specify non-resistor type spark plugs.

To gain power you need to burn more gas and to do that you need to burn clean according to what O2/Lambda reports to ECU - Simply change these Lambda sensors and watch the engine revive with balanced fuel trims!
