Alternator bolt broken
I pulled out the bolt and it seemed ok, so I suspect the issue is with the thread on the bracket (?).
No idea how I could fix that. I think it is part of the engine housing.
Any ideas on how to fix this are very welcome.
At this moment I am mainly looking for a quick/temporary fix.
A real fix would probably involve inserting a new thread, which will be a difficult job considering the position of the hole.
I was thinking to use an epoxy like JB weld or use copper wire:
If I am not mistaken, the purpose of the bolt is mainly to prevent the alternator from moving side ways and most forces are from the serpentine belt. So as long as the bolt does not come out, I would be good?
