V60 Fix.....
For those affected an interested. Mercedes has officially fixed the problems associated with v60 integrated phone. People, including myself have stated they've had problems ranging from hollow sound, poor reception, loss of phone power after shutting the car off and leaving it in the cradle (requiring you take take out the phone battery and re-insert it). Well, the replaced all the vcs modules with the problems corrected. They also gave me a new phone with upgraded "circuitry", but i assume it was a flash upgrade. But they were pretty inisistent on saying some small components needed to be changed in them phone. With that said, the phone works PERFECTLY. The sound and reception is absolutely crystal clear. as soon as I stated makiong calls, people commented on the quality. I suggest calling your dealer about this. This is a known bug and requires module and phone replacment in order to correct.

My callers report that the quality of the phone still is poor ("I sound as though I am talking from a tunnel") although not having to remove the battery to reset the phone is a positive. They switched the handset as reported above so I am pretty frustrated with this aspect of the car right now. Verizon service in NJ is generally good so I don't think that is the issue.
In addition, has ANYONE bothered or is able to set the voice recognition Individualization (off the system menu). This function still does not work for me and I have not seen any mention of this (was told by MB that the phone upgrade would address it). Perhaps it won't make a difference but the voice recognition quality is extraordinarily spotty.

What does not make sense is that has also happened when I use the ear piece in my other car. This would lead me to believe that it is the actual Motorola phone causing the problem.
I actually didn't want the GSM phone. Although it is a better system, I travel to Northern New Mexico all the time and they still don't have GSM service.
Also, a lot of parts in Colorado still don't have a good GSM network yet.Does anyone know what phone will be the next model upgrade in the future when they do get the GSM?
Also, for all of you having problems: Do you have AT&T or Verizon? I wonder if this has anything to do with it. I have AT&T

I know what you mean though about the connections being the problem sometimes.
Thanks,
