The solar charger might work, but you'd have to move a fuse in the fuse box. Normally the cigarette lighter is off when you remove the key so the solar battery charger won't charge if it's plugged in, but you move the fuse and the outlet will still be on even when the car is off.




I used to leave mine at the airport for up to a month while on international business trips. The electrical system in the car begins shutting off parasitic loads after parking for an extended period to preserve starting power. It begins the wake-up when you unlock and open the driver’s door. I was always able to start on return.
But if you can use some sort of trickle charger, it removes any question. I haven’t had the W211 for almost a decade and can’t get to my shop data, so maybe someone else can supply the fuse move info you need.




Your best bet is to use the terminals under the hood. Some have noted that the 12v socket in the rear luggage area, which is always live was a solution for them. Pretty sure I saw this post in the last few days.
