Another odd issue - p0446 / aka: p2012-02

2004 E320 Wagon. I keep getting this code with every fill-up. It will make an appearance once fuel level has dropped to 1/2 tank mostly every time. If I clear it, it will stay away until the next fill-up and come on again after the drop to 1/2 tank. No other codes, no driveability issues. Replaced all of the common suspects: purge control valve, charcoal filter and shut off valve with used parts from my personal collection. No difference. I know that this can be a tough one to resolve. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts.
