Flint Grey and Granite Grey?

Hi I recently purchased a Pewter E500 and was considering changing the color to a Dark Grey color. Does anybody know which color it is that I have to order, is it the Flint Grey or the Granite Grey. The MB website does not show the colors of the actual cars clearly...Also I saw posts with Tectite Grey. Is that the Dark grey color that I have been seeing around on the roads?

If anyone has pictures that would be awesome!

Someone please help mee~~

Thanks!

The autos.yahoo.com "Interactive Color Picker"
http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/merce...ge=izmo#colors
... may or may not be accurate, but if it is, Granite Grey seems to be the darker grey.

You might want to consider Designo Graphite too. Here's a pic on a SLK55:

Attached is a picture of Granite Grey, which changes colors depending on the light conditions. Sometimes it looks dary grey, other times you can see a blue tint to it which is nice with the blue tinted windows on the Appearance Package. Overall, it is a very unique color and you don't see many Mercedes on the road this color. I get a lot of compliments on it.

But if you are looking for a more traditional dark grey, you might consider the Flint Grey option. What you are probably seeing on the road today is Tectite Grey, but I don't think it is offered anymore.

Tectite gray is no longer available and was my #1 choice of color. They suggested Flint gray but I didn't like it for some reason. It's a nice color but just not for me.

I would not call Granite Grey a dark grey but I guess it depends on what you consider 'dark'. I agree with Mallard though that it appears to change color depending on the ambient light. Why don't you go to a dealer and look at actual cars? You can usually find at least one car of every color. Those big glossy brochures usually have every color represented also.

Very nice! I wonder what's the difference between flint grey and the old tectile grey?

From the photos, flint seems a touch lighter or is it my imagination?

Flint Grey is a shade lighter than what tectite was. Also, like someone mentioned about granite grey, flint grey has a tendency to have this slight deep blueish hue around sundown or in other type of lighting.

I like it better than having the brownish tones that something like BMW's Sterling Grey.
