COMAND only sees CD changer for 1 minute, then disappears
I just installed a Mobridge bluetooth adapter which emulates the CD changer, super nice integration with the factory radio, text display, etc which is activated when pressing the CDC soft key on the COMAND unit.
The problem is it only recognizes the adapter and plays music for about a minute after powering on the COMAND. Then it just switches back to FM radio and the "CDC" option disappears from the main COMAND screen. It will only reappear if I turn everything off and let the car sit for 45 minutes.
I currently have the factory CD changer disconnected and bypassed with the fiber optic loop connector, and the bluetooth adapter is installed right behind the radio. Power is supplied by the constant power provided directly to the COMAND unit.
Things I've tried:
All fuses good
Disconnected battery for 45 minutes - same result
A different bluetooth adapter (Mr12Volt) - same result
Checking optical connections, there are none at the amp, the car has no voice control or tele-aid so nothing to check there.
Next on the list is to just replace the whole COMAND unit itself, but finding a W463-specific one is difficult, and the jury is still out on if a W203 unit is actually 100% compatible.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
I took the optical in wire for the satellite radio and moved to to the "in" slot for the CD changer, then bypassed them both with a single loop connector. All seems to be working now.
