So my CV joints are exposed and noisy, the mechanic suggested removing them and welding something at the rear of the transfer case resulting in a conversion. This will mean I will never have to do expensive front drivetrain maintenance. The will keep the diff and driveshaft, and to revert changes I can install new CV joints and replace the something that was welded somewhere around the transfer case.
My question is, as bad as that alteration sound, what can be the risks to doing it. I want to make an informed decision
