w211 steering gets stuck after moving steering column up or down
Hey guys… Ive got a 07 w211 e200. With the steering column at a certain position, it is fine. But when it is adjusted a bit above or below that level, the steering at around 30 40 degrees becomes hard, and remain like that for around 30 degrees more. After that point, its fine turning the rest of the way. The mechanic told me that the steering column needed to be replaced. Has anyone had similar problem in the past, or knows what could be the issue, kindly tell. Your replies are highy appreciated. Thanks

The thing is that mechanics over here in Pakistan are not trained at all. And tbh I don't trust them even. Like recently my car had oil mix in coolant. They told me to get the whole oil cooler replaced. But I ended up doing the oil coolers seals and it worked out perfectly. For this steering column issue, I tried diagnosing the issue myself. I followed along the steering shaft and found out that some parts were rather rusted and needed some lubrication. Lubricated them and the problem got solved.
