Hi Konigstiger! I have been away for a loooong time, but was thrilled when I logged on to see you are still active on this forum. You have always been such great help.
My 2011 e350's Command control knob next to the center console armrest does not work correctly anymore. One night it just stopped having the ability to function by rotating it left or right.
Can you please let me know if I missed a recall or what your professional opinion may suggest?
Many thanks.
Brian

Known/common problem but unfortunately MB has not addressed the matter, no bulletins. DIY repair: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...mand-knob.html alternative replace unit (about $190 or so) PM VIN if you want part # to comparison shop.

W212 E350 (2012), W220 S350 (2003)
Hi Konigstiger and everyone
I am new to the forum, I have just recently purchase my 2012 W212 E350 Avantgarde with CPO (45,000Km). I have recently notice that at low speed the steering wheel makes what I can best describe (from another similar thread) a whipping sound (not creaking or groaning noise), somewhat faint to hear it, I have to turn off the radio to be able to hear it. A member here mentioned in that thread that "its normal", can you please share some light as to why it is or it isnt normal?
Does anyone one else has ever come across this or experience this? I own a W220 S-Class and it never makes such noise.
Thanks in advance.
Michael

Your issue might be different, but I experienced something similar with my 2013 E550 which is the the W212 body style. Below is the excerpt from the dealer invoice (thanks God was covered by the ELW)

Exactly what the dealer diagnosed and did as well. Thank goodness that I also have extended warranty.
Does anyone know if there was ever a bulletin regarding this matter?
Michael.

What do these characters correspond to? Is this info I should provide to my service writer if this is an issue with my vehicle? Will it be covered by the manufacturer/dealer?
