Very nice color combination! Personally, I never thought I'd like a brown car, but the one in your pics look extremely pleasing! In fact, I think it just made my list of "colors that the W212 look good in" (besides Arctic White and Metallic Steel Grey). Funny how the U.S. doesn't have this color! :nix:

I'm usually not a huge fan of brown cars either, but I like this color. I'm pretty sure it's the same color as some of the official press release photo Es as well.
http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...es_E-class.jpg However, based on the pictures, I think it looks good only either in bright sunlight or dark bight. In the bright it has a copper-ish look which I oddly like. In the dark it tends to look closer to black. But in medium lighting situations it looks like it's going to be like any other ugly brown out there. I'm interested to see more pictures in various outdoor lighting scenarios. |
I don't know if my eyes are messed up but I see some purple in that color. It's definitely an interesting color, and doesn't make me gag like brown usually would.
I could be imagining the purple thing as I was just looking at my Cousins new Purple-y-Black CTS, That's a pretty nice color too, makes the car look like something the "Joker" would drive. |

I had a Sienna Black and in bright sunlight it looked like "root beer." In diffuse light it looked black, but not a deep black and just slightly brown. In the end, I didn't like the paint. It's normally sunny in SoCal and I kept seeing a brown car with too much flake in it instead of a black-darkish brown car. It began to look tacky, imho. Anyway, it seems like over the years I'm becoming less enamored with metallic paints and tend to like solid colors better. |

That's interesting. I wasn't going to say anything, lest I step on some toes. But when I first saw the OP's pics I thought it looked a bit like Sienna Black but with lots of purple in it.

When it comes to black colors, I would probably go with just a deep jet black. I can't do black personally though, just hides the lines too much and PITA to keep clean. Metallic colors are definitely tricky. I HATED the color of my car when I first got it (hate anything that's gold or resembles gold), but grew to love it extremely quickly. In some lights it looks gold-ish, and in some it's this cool silver-y hue (I almost see some blue hints when it's really clean and under sun, but that could be my weird imagination), but never really rubs me the wrong way regardless of what hue's coming out of it, I guess that's what makes the perfect metallic color to you, if you can like it in all its settings. |

Just took some shots of the car we had ordered. Actually not getting this one and have submitted another order because of a mess up by MB with the Blind Spot Assist and Lane Change Assist. The first batch of cars with AMG sports packages missed out on these features.
Anyway, with the new order the exterior colour is the same, but the interior will be chestnut and the engine will be the 350CDI. http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01449.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01450.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01451.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01452.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01453.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01454.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01455.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01456.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01457.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01458.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01459.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01460.jpg http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC01461.jpg |
Or mocha / beige two-tone interior.

Wow I love the way it looks in that color. Especially with the Sport Package it looks fantastic.

Exhaust tips
Just a question regarding the pics:
I thought the E350's get round exhaust tips and the E550 get the rectangular ones? Am I incorrect? Or is it different in Australia? Shane D |

The exhaust pipes are complicated. In the U.S. it is as follows:

Hello! I've been searching ALL over the place for the paint code to the cuprite brown paint. I personally think it's gorgeous and I want to put it on another car of mine. Perhaps someone knows what it is? I'd be seriously grateful. MB wasn't very easy to work with.

Well, I do appreciate that bit of knowledge, considering, yes, I am in the US. However, whether or not it will do me any good, I am still searching for that paintcode--if anyone could help, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

From what I understand, MB introduced a special order process recently where you can order some options/colors/upholsteries which are not usually available here in the U.S. I was told the special order fee is only $250 plus whatever the option you are ordering. So for Cuprite brown paint you would pay the standard metallic paint charge plus only $250. |
pmb600! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I can't tell you how much of a relief that is to hear. Truth be told, this type of color is my wife's favorite. Looks like she gets an E-class for christmas!

Why can you get the cream leather with amg sport package
I just bought a e-class w212 with amg sport package and they told me i can only have black leather. which dealer did you buy your car from?
I am in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia |
Rt1688. Yes stupidly all AMG sport pack cars built after October will NOT be allowed to have any other interior colour other then black. So find a dealer who will bump up your order to ensure its built prior to the cut off date. Our car was scheduled to be built 6th of November. When the dealer found out about the policy change, and given that one order has already been messed up, they bumped out car forward to 16th October build. Good luck. :y

Good interior/exterior color combination. It is what I plan to take.
