2009 C63 AMG
Best deal - Christmas 2010?

If one were to wait until the late December 2010 to buy a 2011 C63 AMG (assuming no 2010 available stateside), what would be the theoretical best price for the car? It seems like MB has offered deals during the winter in the past; hopefully this year is similar to past years.

* Car Base - $58200
* Steel Grey Metallic (755) - $ 720
* AMG Leather Package (318) - $ 3090
* Multimedia Package (320) - $ 3350
* Lighting Package - $ 895

- Gas Guzzer Tax - $ 2100

MSRP: $68445

Based on what I've seen, I think I should be able to get the car for $58K w/o tax.

Thoughts? Comments?

~Roy

Thanks; I'll take pictures of her as soon as I have some time. So far I'm loving the car I looked at my contract and my residual is pretty high; $45,000. But then again she is going to be worth every penny for whomever ends up with her after me. Steal Grey with P2 and Drivers Assit

Congrats and enjoy your new car, but this car will never cost $45K after 3 years of lease. It does not mean you've got a bad deal. The best price they can sell it will be about $40K, or even a little less. I think MB Financial playing with residual value numbers to bring it up, so the lease will cost less and people can lease it. Even today you can buy 2010 MB with P2 package and 15K miles at auction for no more than $40K.

Completely agreed. It's only a 2 year lease and $40,000 sounds reasonable for that car. But by that time the new engines will be available for the E so the price might even go a smidge below $40,000. Only time will tell

DAMN!! I wonder why the residuals are so catastrophically different? Yours is a 36 month Lease yeah? Looks like MBUSA has changed from 39 months to 36 months for 2011.

Yeah, if you're not buying, the higher the residual the better. Someone will get a nice ride after you're done with it.

Yeah; I opted for a two year lease because it seems that I keep on jumping out of my leases early. Plus the new engines are going to be out soon and we can all use more power sooner then later

aeggroup, what's your residual?

It's interesting to me how M-B keeps changing them around, and I know you got yours right when the W212's came out, so I'm wondering if they modify the residuals in line with what how the car is currently depreciating?

I don't remember exactly, but i think it's about $32-$34K...and MSRP $58K with change. My payment is $770 a month, so it sounds about right for this car at that time ( new model 3-5 months on a market)

Interesting. Mine is set lower than most I've seen on Lease Trader, etc. Or at least about the same as some of the cheaper P1 residuals I've seen (mine is P2/Pano).

Well, I'm a long way before I'll know whether the residual will mean jack to me or not. I'm just trying to understand the whole concept and dynamic of how they work.

Will MBUSA negotiate residuals? Or is it only if you're lucky, lol.

Hello everybody,
I'm planning to buy a new or slightly used (not above 5K) 2010 E550 Premium 2 package, Panorama sunroof, Sport styling, Parktronic parking guidance, Ipod integration kit, split folding seats, rear spoiler and drivers seat dynamic. Just wondering how much should I offer for such options for new and for slightly used?

Please note: I am changing the body to an E63 kit so if there is any body options that I could get rid off to reduce the price please mention it!!! (and no I don't think they'll agree me buying the car without the wheels and bumpers) lol

I'm gonna guess high $50's to low $60's as a CPO model. Maybe cheaper, or maybe more. I'd say try for high $50's and see how that works.

For New, I dunno, if they have any '10 E550's left, and with those options, you could probably get it for low to mid $60's?

I've seen some insane deals on E550's like high $50's new (I think here). I guess it depends on location, but I don't think many people around me are getting deals anywhere near that.

I just tried building a 2011 E550 on the MBUSA.com and included all the options mentioned above with a total of 69K assuming I'll get the $8000 discount everyones getting I'll end up with 61K for a 2011.. So for a 2010 5K less would be more appropriate? With a total of 56K?

Hmm, are people getting $8K off for '11's already? Maybe the end-of-year discounts? I thought that those big discounts were used on clearing out the '10 MY's.

For a Used E550, I do think $56K might be possible.

You could be surprised what how much their selling the used E550.. You should check autotrader.com or cars.com!

Looking above in this thread someone mentioned he offered 62K for 2011 E550 MSRP at 67K

Less than that with 5K Miles! Damn!

With more than 5K, I would have assumed that to be the case though.

What are they going for?

The used between 3-8K miles E550 are already being sold for between 51-58K depending on the options and some new ones between 57-61K also depending on their options... You could always assume you could bargain and get a couple K's less than the price listed. But I'm hoping I could get a new one for the price I mentioned, so if there is any dealers or salesmen out here, feel free to contact me via PM

Sounds good for a 2 year Lease. What's your Residual?

Out here in CA, our stupid Tax is about 10%. To many people, that can easily start getting near $100 a month in JUST monthly Tax.
