Does anyone know of any cool hacks for the new E class?

Ohh yeah, one other thing. I ordered the Media Interface Plus after my failed visit. It is a piece of crap. For one, there is no way to pair it to the Comand system. Seems like the instructions were written possibly for a newer (or older) model/version than what I have. So you have to have 2 seperate BT connections from my phone. One to the Command and the other to the MIP. Kills the iphone battery. Then even to get the damn thing working is a pain. Half the time it doesn't stream. You have to go to the settings and manually turn it on every time.
Sound quality is very poor compared to the Comand's BT audio. I played the same song with MIP and Command, and the difference is easily heard. I am far from a sound expert. Anyone can hear the difference.
Almost everything it is advertised to do doesn't quite work right. The whole device is a joke.
Only reason I am hanging on to it is I might want to get the video cable to play iphone video on the Command system.

In the Nissan/Infiniti's, all you had to do is "trick" the head unit to think that the car's parking brake is on and that the transmission is in park. You do this by putting a DPST switch that grounds the parking brake wire and transmission wire. Of course, when you do this, the navigation stops tracking where you are.
So the "long driving" scenario with kids goes something like this. You start driving and turn the switch "on". This allows access to all the menus in the Navi. You plug the address to where you're going in the Navi. Turn the switch "off". The Navi does it's calculations. Once you get to a long stretch of highway, turn the switch back "on" so that you can watch DVD's. While the switch is "on", the Navi will not be tracking your car's movements. If you know you're approaching an exit or something, turn the switch "off" so that the Navi can recalculate. While the switch is "off", the DVD screen goes blank.
Could it be this simple with our E350?

I don't know if this has been mentioned but I just found this out today. Also I'm sure I would of found out about this if I read the manual.
On the side mirror controls, if you choose the button to adjust the passenger side mirror and leave it on there, the mirror points down when you are backing up and goes back to normal position when you start driving.

And while your car is on reverse gear you can adjust that passenger side mirror to the position you like and it will go to that same position every time you reverse. This is also saved in the seat memory so don't forget to save it after you are done with adjusting it.

My dealer refused to do the update, said the head unit on the 2012's is different and that updating COMAND won't do anything. Sad part is, where I live (Jacksonville) they are the only MB dealer for at least 100 miles so I'm pretty much stuck with them from a service perspective.
They also screwed me on service B, quoted me 350 when I scheduled then when I got there upcharged me another 150 to do the brake flush.. I was willing to pay whatever to get it done, just seemed underhanded to not include the brake flush in the price when that is part of service B.

I have discovered something new .
If you press one of the door lock buttons and lock the doors via button when in stationary , seat belt won't budge or give away when you try to tug it down . So, first fasten the seat belt and then push the door lock button on the door panel if you deactivate auto door locks

BT Audio
Just picked up my 2010 CPO e350. I was told by the person going over that car that there is no BT audio for 2010. Followed the instructions here and worked like a charm with my S4. Great stuff!!

BT Streaming
Hi
I do not have the COMMAND, but the cd/radio with navigation and bluetooth, in my 2010 w212.
I can not figure out how to stream bluetooth music from my phone/other units.
The phone is connected, but it is not possible to select bluetooth audio. Just AUX and Media Interface.
In engineering mode, most of the options are "greyed out" and I can not select much of the options mentioned earlier in this thread...
Anyone have any idea on how to get this working?
Do you have to have the command (with video/dvd) do get this to work?

I already active bluetooth streaming audio from engineering menu. I have iPhone 4s. I am trying to connect my iPhone in BT audio streaming but it will not success (authorization unsuccessfully). I read from prevues replies to go success make it external authorization. How and where to make external authorization?

Software update
I have now updated every unit in the car to last version.
I can still not stream bluetooth audio. It even seems like some choises have dissapared from engineering mode.
Does anyone have a step-by-step guide for how this should be done, for us without "command"?

Hybrid screens in "system"
Hi All,
Like so many others i got my comand updated and BT straeaming is working fine now !!
Well ...today I had some spare time and i enabled the AIRcon displaying on comand screen... nice feature.
I also found the hybrid settings.. and now i have two hybrid screens in the "system" .. i took the car for a drive.. but the fuel flow is not updating.. reads zero.. all the time.
Have anyone else enabled this.. and actually seen some data in the graphs?
Have a nice weekend
BRgds Kim

I don't think it is enabled as the hybrid function/graphs are for a hybrid car, which our Es are not.

This may not be news for many but noticed that the car obviously has the fuel consumption as a default display in the cluster.
You can be anywhere in the menu, other than in the average fuel, trip or mileage display, and two pushes on the return button (the square U-turn sign) takes you back to the fuel consumption display, one more press on it and it goes to the total car mileage display.
No need to press arrows to get back if the fuel consumption is what you want to mostly be looking at while driving...

BT Audio, then scroll to the right, Option, External Authorization, then on your phone, select the MB Audio, now enter a pin..mbusa is suggested.
it works for me...the only issue i have now it, the system will not auto reconnect. i have to repeat the external authorization every time. will take it in to the service center next tuesday

Recently picked up a 2010 w212 and was disappointed I couldn't stream via Bluetooth but this fix resolved that situation with a few bugs outlined by others. Does reconnect automatically and the display shows the same title.
Thank you for the fix. Will try and take it to dealer for software update. Should I disable the Bluetooth streaming before taking it in?
