How much is prepaid maintenance plan for E class?

One sales said it's going to be $1300. Now i just have more questions:

1. Is it worthy investment? Assuming we do not know car at all. Schedule A? B?
2. Is it locked to the particular one dealership?
3. Should I buy extended maintenance? warranty?
4. Is there any other package that I should be interested in?

I didn't buy the service shield or the extended warranty. I bought karr shield which covers the tires, rims, key fobs, and door dings. It was $1100.

The official package offered from Mercedes Benz is called Star Service Prepaid Maintenance and its $769 (E550 $805 gas engines only no AMG). It covers everything for 3 years or 30k miles, which is a savings on servicing if you add the A, B, and C servicings up. On my next car I will attempt to have them throw it in for free, or at the very least split the cost with me. My only complaint is why not offer it for four years or 50k miles and charge a little extra, better yet, just roll it into the base price and offer free maintenance like they used to.
