I recently purchased an 2010 E350 in white w/pano & p2 package that should be ready for pickup next week. My regret is not upgrading the sport wheels to the AMG's. My question is what options do you regret not purchasing or which ones do you think were a waste of money.

Got exactly the same thing and color last night. Signed the papers today. I regret nothing. I did opt for the AMG's though. I plan to merely add tint (Florida sun) and maybe clear side markers. I love it thus far. Don't care for the black interior that much, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. Congrats on the car. I believe you'll love it.

Just FYI, I believe the "blade" like (nicer) 5-Star upgrades aren't AMG's, and the base wheels that do come with the Sport Package, are AMG's, if I'm not mistaken. It does make no sense though.

Yeah, it's confusing I think b/c of the naming. I think these are all the whell options on the W212. I'm not 100% sure about the wheels on the E63 AMG.

In order - Luxury, Sport, Wheel Package (AMG Wheels), AMG Standard, and AMG Performance.

for non E63 you can choose first 3 only which in germany they cost around 250 Euro, 280 Euro and 700 Euro (AMG) per rim for 1st, 2nd and 3rd pictures

I have mixed feeling about the Panorama roof. The cars here are often equipped with either the AMG Wheel pkg or the Panorama roof. The price difference is minimal and I thought the Panorama is more useful so I went with it. The shade is actually made of mesh-like material, so you can still see the sun during the day. There are people in the family that absolute hate the sun and this really threw us off. They should've used an opaque shade instead of mesh.

fwiw, it was opaque until the W212. Now they use a cheaper see through material. I imagine you could always get an upholsterer to change it out and use the material that MB once used.

Pano was my #1 priority since I live in Seattle and wanted to maximize the few sunny months we have. Had to wait 3weeks to get the right combo car since pano's are so rare on the lots here.

that's MB would go to the mesh style. my sister has that on her land rover lr2 and i hate it. my pano is the 1st gen with the cover that doesn't let any sun in, amazing. ya, i wouldn't buy pano again. lol, i bet the S class pano blocks out all the sun. i forget how the C class is. damn MB always cheaping out on lower models.

cool- are they vampires? is it true they turn to dust if the sun hits them, or is it more like that dude in "preacher", where it just burns and burns?

Seriously though, you could probably tint the pano roof more if you really needed it sealed up, but that would of course defeat the purpose. Perhaps adding some additional fabric on the inside of the screen would do it but I don't know what it would take to get in there.

To the original topic: the only regret I have is that I couldn't get the E63. Otherwise, it's exactly what I wanted in a E550.... I suppose getting the trunk lip would have been good, but I'm planning on adding aftermarket anyway.

Can you post more pics of your arctic white e? I have the same color combo on order but it's a E550 4Matic. I am going nuts waiting for it!!!!

Weird, I always thought the 5-Spoke "blade" rims were of the "Wheel Package" and cost more. It makes sense the AMG's would though. I personally think the 212's AMG's (non E63) look kinda generic, like what comes on a Base C300 (no prestige to have that on an E-Class IMO). I do see like 80+% of the W212's with the AMG Wheels, so I guess most have the Wheel Package included.

i don't understand who came up with this idea of using the mesh material to cover the glass. WTF? it still let's so much sun in. ridiculous.

Ideal for the Seattle climate but not for warm/sunny areas.

Exactly. The whole purpose of having the shade is to block the sun when you DON'T want to see through. Now w/ the shade it's still a see-thru. What's the point? Sure I can tint the roof but then what did I get Panorama roof for? It's a 100% design flaw.

That's not only lame in respect to sunlight, but it looks ridiculous. It looks like pantyhose.

Either have the shade open or closed, depending on if you want light or no light. Now there's no choice. 100% fail.

That's preposterous. It's these weirdly questionable careless materials in the interior that boils me in regard to the 212. They really put no attention to the roof-lining in the car, not in the standard fare models, not in the $90K E63, and certainly not in the Pano roof models.

Honestly, that picture to me looks like what a $20K Kia would use as their lame attempt at providing a Pano roof. Not only does it look low-end, it seems to let a lot of sun in.

I could not live with that, either it blocks the sun or it does not. I can see how it would appeal to some folks, just not for me.

Have a pano roof on our 212 and although you can see the sun, it doesn't let the sunlight in. If that makes any sense. I dunno. The car feels sufficiently dark when the shade is closed although I guess it could always be darker. Guess I'd have to compare it to another (older) pano roof to see the difference.

Or maybe someone can get one of those light meters that photographers use and measure the difference in light b/t the "old" and "new" pano roof cars.

Same here, it does let not any sun in and I did even realize you could see thru it until I saw the pictures on this thread. I never just looked up at it to notice.
