x-tian: Hang in there! You'll be happy with the outcome I'm sure.
BPhilly: Thanks! Cool, yeah my only issue is there seem to be quite a few areas where the wing doesn't exactly perfectly snuggle up to the trunk, which leaves it not able to "attach". So I'm hoping the attached areas are enough to keep it locked in for the long haul. Also, I hope that water doesn't seep in too much. We'll see! Either way, love that my car is now exactly how I envisioned I wanted it, even before I bought it.

Hey KA,
If you don't feel happy with the current mounting of it, take it off and redo it bro, I did. You can find the 3M tape at most hardware stores, and maaaaybe at auto stores. Get the thinner width one, b/c it comes in a wider tape, and you don't want to cut it.
Taking the spoiler off will probably be hard, and taking the adhesive from the tape off the car and the spoiler, for me, is always a pain in the ***. I use goo-gone, but I'm sure something is made especially for this stuff to make it easier. I would try and find something like that, goo-gone, although it does the job, is messy, tiring, and trust me, just a general pain.
I didn't have the positioned perfect the first time, so the sides of my spoiler would be strained though the tape was holding it. But once the dealership gave it the first wash, it came loose a little, so I redid it.
First off, the 3M tape is strrrrong stuff. I used to have a front lip spoiler on my S2000 held on with this stuff. I did however, eventually got that molded on, but that would not be the situation with our lid spoiler on this car.
If you can get a good mount and good attachment, that tape won't let go, water or not. If you hear the tape kind of unsticking no matter what you do, perhaps using an extra adhesive might help/alleviate that. You want a solid stick across the entire length of the spoiler/tape.
Make sure when you are pushing the spoiler in for the first time that you really get that tape to take hold. that's really all the pointers I have, I'm not pro at this, but I've done it a bunch of times...doesn't mean I'm doing it right though, hahaha.
Glad you got the item. Now it's x-tian's turn!

Keep us posted x-tian! Hopefully it should get there within the next few days.
Snake: Yeah that's what I was thinking, but that thing is definitely STUCK on there. My only worries are the tiny areas that I know aren't stuck, how will wind (and its effect on drag, although probably way too tiny of areas to matter), and especially WATER potentially seeping in there, effect its longetivity. I know I pushed it in as hard as I can, so I'm assuming if there's any issue, it's "fit" over my installation? I dunno. We'll see. The middle I layed on for some time to get to really stick, and it seems to be on there super good now, but it feels like the wing had to be slightly flexed to get to stick that area on, so hopefully that never gives. It seems once the 3M "settled", it's on there for good, so I'm hoping.

And here are some pics of it on the car, with some more eye candy of the car (I NEED to stop taking pics of my car RIGHT before I wash it!)

Is the OEM spoiler installed the same way ? What about the E63 Spoiler ?
Thanks dude

No prob man! I just responded over there too, lol.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I tried talking myself out of the spoiler for so long, and I think the car looks great without it as well, but I ended up just thinking "it's gonna be in the back of my mind forever, so F it", plus that price is amazing. We'll see how it stands. Hopefully water leaks and such won't make it in there, or if it does, hopefully it won't be an issue.
Not sure how OEM compares, but this is definitely a good product. I don't know if this possible fitment "issue" is due to the wing, or my installation, but I'm pretty sure I installed it as well as I could.
I do think it gives my car a "complete" look now, and just set it off that little extra bit that I wanted, and I now finally really love the rear of my car (already did after smoking the lights and debadging, but this really perfected it extra for me). However, I really wanted to go that extra step in setting the rear of this car apart from most E's, so I figured the lip would help with that.
Edit: Oh, and yeah the OEM and E63 use the exact same adhesive to be applied as this wing apparently. Also, I think the E63 wing is the same as the OEM wing?

The E63 spoiler is actually different than the non AMG W212 lip spoiler. The 212 E63 spoiler actually looks identical to the W211 E63 spoiler..

Really? I didn't know that about the E63 spoiler. Maybe I'll stop by a Dealer soon and compare my OEM Replica wing to an OEM wing, then to the E63 wing.
Yeah, it looks so hot with the wing. The car is now exactly how I envisioned I wanted it since before I even got it.
Also, the 212 obviously has very dynamic and sharp features, I was hoping the cut of the wing would carry that on, i.e it wouldn't "look" like it wasn't molded and cut by M-B. Fortunately, the piece looks perfectly proper to the 212's sheetmetal in look.

Thanks dude! I'm loving the car with it. I think the W212's benefit from just a little wing is multiplied over the average cars, due to the rear needing just that extra jazz to fit the rest of the design. That's probably why it's a Factory Option now, unlike the W211.
Thanks x-tian! It'll be worth it when you get it, just be patient with the install. The thing is so easy to put on, it's almost easy to not take your time to make sure you figure out how to get it all snug in every little area.
Looks like you and I were on a coin-flip, could have been either of us to got the "extra-long" treatment.

Over on the AMG Private Lounge, the MBUSA AMG product managers said that the rear spoiler is vitally important when over 120 mph. It puts needed down force weight on the rear end. Otherwise it just adds drag and reduces mpg.
Now go and test it

Yeah that kinda sucks. the added drag will outweigh the no times I'll hit 120 in the car probably, but vanity is rarely efficient.

The spoiler came in last night... I installed it today.. Check it out.. The fit and finish is great.... Over all I am very happy....THe only complaint is that it took over 3 weeks from order to getting it shipped.... Other than that, great product for the price...

Congrats!!!! Well worth the wait, although you really got hit with an unfair wait process. Oh well, c' est la vie, I'm sure you're smiling now!!
Was the fit perfect? I.e did every single area of the 3M tape stick snugly to the boot?

Yeah. It was pretty much a snug fit... Definately no gaps here. Although I have not washed the car yet so I am not sure if water is going to go thru the gaps.

All right boys...looks like I might get ballsy and go for the roof spoiler now (these after market add ons are addictive)...stand by to stand by....
