2010 E350 4-Matic
Stock Lights :[

I have a 2010 E350 4-Matic with Pano, P1 Package, and Wheel Package. With the P1 Package, came Crystal White Halogen Headlights along with Dual Front Fog-Lights. I was wondering if it was possible to replace the Stock Halogen Headlights with the Bi-Xenons and Dual Fog-Lights with Hockey-Shaped LED's?... My Mercedes-Benz dealer had said it was nearly impossible... However, I find nothing to be impossible and there's always a way around what they say. Thank you for the help!

Nothing is impossible, but it's probably not terribly cost effective. It might even be cheaper to sell your old car and buy a new one.

A cheaper alternative for the LEDs, might be an aftermarket kit from Brabus:

I was in the same boat as you when I got my E350 off the lot. It cost me 350 to have my car guy install the Xenons. He did one heck of a job as he tucked everything away and looks amazing. You wouldn't be able to get the Bi-Xenons as it requires you to purchase all new lighting assembly. I also looked in to the hockey shaped assemblies and my car guy said he would be able to do it. But it costs 500 for the assemblies alone. I did find someone on ebay selling OEM L shaped DRL assemblies with a harness that basically plug and play for 1800 dollars. To me that is INSANE. Anyways for now I just have the xenons and I am VERY happy with it.

Anything could be done. But because your car is so new it will be difficult to find used ones so you really have no option but to pay crazy prices for new ones. As for changing the fogs, it wouldn't just be the lights. I don't know the specifics of your bumper but you would definitely have to change the grilles surrounding the fogs and maybe even the whole bumper.

That's a crazy price to install Xenons, you paid more than double.

That is the cost of the assemblies AND install. Also have you seen the insides of the engine compartments. THere is barely any room to move. All in all I am very happy with the install and pricing. As for the L shaped DRLs, absolutely they will NOT be plug and play. The electrical part is different. You will need to get the sport/AMG bumper along with the grills.

Thank you guys for your help! And does it matter if I already have the AMG Sport Package? And what is a good place to get quality Xenons?

Based off of your reaction, I am not sure if that is a good or bad reaction. The Xenon kit itself i believe was 225.00. That included the resistors that run in series to not give a code to the cars computer. The install I believe was 125.00. Again they did an amazing job. Cannot see where the ballasts are hidden and all the wiring is done professionally. Let me see if i can post some pictures. They are a HUGE difference between the regular lighting that comes with the car and the Xenons.

Bobbert,

It is actually good that you have the AMG sport package. Then you can just purchase the DRL assemblies. I think the assemblies come with the mess grill and lights. If you had the non sport bumper, then the only way would be to purchase a new bumper. Like I said, I paid 350.00 for a quality install and a good set of Xenon light assemblies.

What your describing is an HID kit, not Xenon headlights. What your guy installed was a simple kit probably 6000k or 8000k. You didn't get the Bi-Xenons that we are talking about.

You could never get BIX's at the price you paid. For my w209 the cheapest used set of Xenons right now is $1600...

You are absolutely correct. It is the HID/Xenon kit I paid for. I never stated Bi-Xenons. If you read my above post, I stated that if you wanted Bi-Xenons the only way is to replace the entire lighting assembly.

Thank you... And just to clarify, you have Xenon bulbs, but not the LED DTRL? And what style lighting in Kelvin did you get?

BTW HID = Xenons. Xenon is a gas that is used in the light bulb that discharges a high intensity light.

You right, you did say that. It just that people don't usually call an HID kit "Xenons"

Yes you are correct. I have Xenon bulbs and not the LED DRLs. At first I wanted to get the DRLs but it just costed too much money. I might still continue to look for it and hopefully i can find a used set. I used 6000k as anything above that will become more blue/purple and you will start to loose candle stick light. 6000k is a white light. If you like the blue/purple light you can go with the 8000k.

Alrighty, thank you for your help. I will, too continue the search for the LED DTRL's... And will also go on the hunt for a nice pair of "HID" Headlamps.

Good luck! One thing to remember, a great of Xenons is only as good as the install. Remember to remind your installer that you do not want them to throw out codes to your car... a set of resistors might be needed, but a good install will know this already. G'Luck

If you end up purchasing from HIDextra let them know you need capacitors. That's what they call resistors, and it should be free with the kit.

Damn, you shoulda just got the P2 Package if you especially want to upgrade to BOTH units! Not to mention the other goodies you get from it. IMO P2 is the best value option you can get on this car (only like $1,500 extra or so right?).

Oh well, you live and you learn. I know I find that out for myself every day!

Haha, yes I know. But at the time, there weren't any E's in the lot with P2 and Pano w/o adding a ton of $$$$ on options i truley didnt want. And I didn't want to wait. I had honestly at the time just really had the desire for the Pano Roof... However, now I regret not waiting but it isn't that big of a deal to me not having the lights. I am very pleased with my E350. The lights would just be an awesome bonus =]

X-Titan,
Would you mind posting some pics of your lights for me? I am just curious to see how they look in person. All the websites seem to show different shades for the same intensity. I would just like a basic idea... Thank you and hope you don't mind!
