Scratched Wood Trim

Does anyone know how to take out minor scuffs in the "clear coat" of the wood trim on the door?

Car came like that and I always assumed it would come out using some cleaner wax but it didn't work. Are there wood trim dedicated polishes that can remove these minor scuffs?

I use meguire's step 2 polish. I had a long scratch on mine when I purchased it, took it out pretty easy.

What was your technique in applying meguire's step 2 polish?

Just applied it to a small rag and put some nice pressure on the scratch as if it was an exterior paint scratch and rubbed it in real good. It came right out pretty easy, so the laquer coating the wood is somewhat softer than a clear coat exterior paint.
