Question Passenger side rattle driving me crazy!

Hi Guys,

I have a weird rattle that comes on from passenger side ONLY when A/C is ON while stopping and going, what's interesting when AC Air circulation is ON; it stops rattling. Any ideas??

Can't stand hard to locate rattles; I feel your pain.

Maybe you tired it already - the best (and safest) way is to have someone in the car with you listening for the rattles while you focus on driving.

I feel your pain. I have had several rattles, that the dealer has taking care of...I just put some felt under my front (center vents) as well to stop them from creaking. Good luck, I would just take it in before it drives you crazy.

Thanks guys, I think it's something related to the Passenger side AC fan, when the cabin reaches the optimum temp, that fan starts rattling on stopping and going. I am taking it to the dealer soon.

I have to revive an old thread but I'm starting to hear a slight rattle/tick/muffled chirp from the passenger floorboard/dash area upon slowing down or gently accelerating. It's intermittent and has only occurred with the heat on so far. It's as if the slight force of the acceleration/deceleration causes an imbalance in the fan on the passenger side....it also does this sometimes when parked but only on the next to highest fan speed setting...strange. It's not a big issue but it was enough for me to notice.

I was just curious as to whether or not this was remedied on your vehicle.

I had a noise, more like a scrunch, that was noticible at slow speeds on the passenger side. Turned out to be the rub point under the hood, right side rubber bumper against the under side of the hood. I put some Teflon tape on that bumper and the noise is gone. Completely gone! Don't know if this will help you, but it is a place to look.

I experienced this, took your advice and applied some 3M squeak reduction tape and it's gone.

O/T, but MCF, what kind of MPG are you getting on the '07 'Hoe? I saw one near me for a pretty good price. I really mostly hate huge Trucks, but at the same time the Devil in me thinks it'd be fun to toy around with for a while. I'd do quite a bit of driving in it, so the MPG factor might spoil the party.

Sure, I'll make a snap tomorrow if the rain subsides. I notice MB has a similar squeak reduction piece for the other hood "bumpers", but this I added towards the front of the bay.

Sorry for the delay, we had rain here and I couldn't find the original 3M box. Here is the photo of the driver's side 3M tape in place where the hood striker would hit. (excuse the lint)

In front of the radiator, next to the Mobil 1 oil sticker.

I had a 2011 E550 Cab that rattled ...Rear passenger quarter quadrant . Dash around middle where he metal grid is. And that pillar thing passenger side and driver door. Needles to say after 9 months I traded in for a new 2012 only 1 rattle in the pillar ugh.....
