park423 02-19-2011 12:15 AM

Are you sure about that front tire size of 245/35-20 and rear 295/25/20? 26.75" front diameter vs. 25.8" rear diameter? On a 4matic? If so, transfer case/differential are toast soon.

Tjdehya 02-19-2011 09:20 AM

Thanks all, I had other palns for a couple other simple mods but I think i am done.
I am not going for the all black look and right now it has the right balance of sportiness and class. (for me)

Incredible pictures of a great looking set-up. Love the sunset / sun up shots!

E550Shopper 02-21-2011 09:16 AM

Looks sweet! I'm in the process of building a similar car, but it'll still be different enough. :)

I assume by "front" tinted 80%, you mean the windshield, not the driver / passenger front side windows, yes?

And how did you get the star in the middle of the wheels? On Vossen's website it looks like it's a Vossen logo.

Yea when looking at the pics it looked boring because there was nothing but a clear blue, sky so I figured I would add some clouds.

Yes 20% all around and 80% on the windshield. The Vossen logo can be replaced by a MB center cap. There are at least three diffent Benz Star center caps that I know of.

I thought all MB center caps are 75mm. What are the other two sizes? Thanks.

I am sorry I know nothing about the sizes. But I think the Vossen center caps were a different size than the ones on the stock wheel.
I was talking about the silver with star and Laurel, Black with star, and silver with star center caps. I am sure there are more option but those are the 3 that I know of.

Ok, I must have misread above. I thought your were talking about three different sizes instead of three different designs. That explains it, since I know MB uses only one size center caps for all their wheels (regardless of design) in at least last 20 years.

KYHaynes 02-21-2011 07:22 PM

Where did you buy those wheels? Looking due add some for the summer.

I got them from Total Eclipse, a local shop here in Vegas. A great set of guys. They do tons of Luxury car work. They were very helpful with my staggered fit. They have a Mercedes dealership directly across from them so they are pros when it comes to customizing Mercedes cars. I think Vossen is a sponsor so you can contact them here or go directly to their website.

hyperion667 02-22-2011 08:11 AM

I remember someone making smart remarks about tinting a windsheild........said it was a waste........but maybe not?

TJ your car looks great.

Vossen wheels use different size center caps, MB manufactured caps fit some of their wheels and others wheels it won't fit. On the VVS 085's like I have they do not fit but they can be ordered from Vossen (like I had to). Check with Jav at Vossen (you can PM him on this forum), other wheels take MB caps which you can buy from MB.

PS get them when you order the wheels (either from Vossen or MB, Vossens only come in silver but if you want black a good wheel shop can have they painted black with a chrome ring or star) it will save you a trip back to the wheel store
