E350 Coupe

The exception to your theory is the E class coupe. It has luxury, and a price point = to the E sedan. However you would never define it as stately. It is without a doubt one of the sexiest of the current coupe contenders.

I actually went to a Dealer yesterday to check out the new CLS, and naturally, the Salesman asked "would you be interested in replacing your car with a new one for the exact same payments"? Which seems hilariously misleading, but I did buy my car in its first year, and payments have certainly lowered since then. I told him "Sure, find me the EXACT same combo (P2/Pano/White on Black-Almond w/ Burl Wood) and why not. Needless to say, my Combo is a little more rare than I thought, as out of dozens of E's, they had none with that.

.... Anyway, he said "How about a Coupe", and I HAVE started to like the Coupe more lately, but would only want one in a 550 due to it being the only way of getting the AMG Sport Package, and at that price, it's not worth it for me personally. No disrespect to the Coupe but the Sedan is just more my style.

However, as for Verts, I've always hated them, and probably would never drive one unless it was an SL (and I'd always have the top up, lol).

You know actually the AMG Sport Package is little more than stick on body pieces. I have the P2 package E350 coupe (wife didn't want the 550...her car) so I have the available AMG features. Wheels...led hocky stick lights...paddle shifters.

At least you're warming to the Coupe look. Back when you and I started having these conversations you hated all E classes including you're sedan. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Haha, no need, I think about it all the time! This is one reason that the new E-Classes are important models to me, as I've been on both sides of the fence in extremes!

I've seen several Coupes lately that have looked pretty stunning. It's a bit more of a fussy design and shape to figure out than the Sedan IMO, which keeps it more polarizing to me, but all in all, I think it's nice in its own right. The Sedan just has some (non utility related) elements to me that justify it to my tastes. The Coupe is a nice balance between the C and E-Class for someone who doesn't want/need the size/utility of the E Sedan, and doesn't want a C-Class.

What I do really like is how the Coupes do keep the AMG Packages at a premium, unlike the Sedan which ****** them out. It makes a well equipped Sport Package Coupe really stand out from the rest of the Coupes.

KA-What Mustang did you have? My first car (courtesy my parents) was an '89 GT (what were they thinking ), loved that car, all that torque. Wish I kept that car.

I really like the way the coupe drives. Being the C chassis, it is much more of a sporty/racer feel. My sister-in-law has the E350 coupe and I really liked the way it drove so I figured the sedan would be about the same but the 350 sedan was so isolated. I can't imagine how fun the E550 coupe must be, with the new engine, should be near AMG levels.

I had a '96 GT as my first car as well (well, I had an '87 hand-me-down Gold Audi 5000 Sedan first ). I begged, pleaded, fought, and worked my a$$ off to ensure that I'd get it, saving up some of my own money, etc.

It was so much fun, liking a rolling amusement park. 15" custom built sub (also had 2 10"'s first, but modified my system like every other month), slammed, body-kit, racing seats (color coded with the car) and carbon fiber trim, NO muffler exhaust system (sounded like heaven), etc. etc.

I loved it, and also wished I kept it. I also bought 2 fox-bodies later on as project cars, but I crashed one in a street-racing related accident (grown from that stage, and now am incredibly opposed to spirited driving on public roads, hence my content with a V6 and Luxury Sedan, etc.), and the other I raced a bunch then just sold for a profit.

Love Mustangs, I want another one soon, as a second car perhaps.

Talk about a head turner.... Even in '04 this thing was getting stares, compliments, etc. constantly. A lot of that was in the color.

2019 CLS 450
The amount of hot women drooling on my E class sometimes makes me wistfully wonder how much booty I would have gotten had I had this car when I was single.

lol, nice KA, pictures and all...aftermarket car radios, those were the days
street racing was a little more innocent back then when 200-250HP was a lot, still grateful never had an accident (though can quite close many times), cars are TOO powerful now.
