Windshield wipers!

Guys,

I just got my e350 4matic 3 weeks ago brand new and I have this ANNOYING problem with my windhsield wipers. They stutter as they come down regardless if its drizzling or pouring outside. I don't know if they are too dry? and I can tell its nots dirty cause I washed my winshield yesterday. The only time I touched them was when I washed my car i wiped them with a microfiber tower with a little soap. Anyone know a solution before I give up and buy new wipers? This car is BRAND NEW!!!

Thanks

D

Wiper arms may need to be adjusted and if blades need replacement this should also be covered under warranty given vehicle is brand new.

Might try some rainx wiper fluid, this will help coat your windshiled with a fine lubricant that helps prevent wiper stick for smooth glide.

I'll try some rainx and see if it'll make a difference.

Try This

Owners manual page 128. To prevent smearing on the windshield or noise when wiping, wipe the windshield occasionally with washer fluid.

Thats exactly what I did when it was pouring outside yesterday to STOP the chattering for a couple of mins before the washer fluid washes away and then it does it again....

Do you mean just randomnly use washer fluid?

RainX stays on the windshield for weeks. When you use it in your washer fluid and need to add it to your windshield, hit the washer. You can get in already mixed in washer fluid or you can add it from the little bottles to your current fluid. Stuff's amazing, really is. It will prevent your chatter with one use for weeks.

I'm willing to try anything at this moment... its embarassing and hellannoying.

I might also just tell mb to change the blades or whatever they need...

Chattering blades are fixable...you might need new arms (pressure is wrong), new blades (some environmental issue) or you may have something on your windows that you can't see that's causing the problem (some waxes leave residues).

If I recall correctly (hasn't happened to me in years), you can actually see that the blade is not flipping at the end of each stroke. The physical rubber/silicone blade should be pulling behind the metal blade carrier...but when it's chattering, the blade is actually pushing ahead of the carrier (hard to explain in words....) The blade should flip at the end of each pass left or right.

The answer to all is to take it to the dealer and let them figure it out.

Mercedes product
This is a production problem with the material. My new car did this right off the bat. The blades studder across the windshield when you use them. Rainx might help, or polishing the windshield.

Try clay-baring the windshield or wiping down the rubber on the wipers with alcohol or windshield washer fluid to take off residue from wherever the car has been or the mfg. process.

Mine chatter like crazy. This wouldn't even pass my state's inspection. It's a safety issue, so take it in.
