Bored With My 2011 E550 Coupe?
Those of you own and drive an E550 Coupe, any of you getting bored with your coupe and wants something better like a CL63 AMG?
Don't get me wrong, my E550 coupe is THE best car that I've ever owned thus far and it's a sweet ride, but I'm aching for something more "umph" and status!
I think I'll be trading my in for a 2012 CL63 AMG in January.
Thoughts?

Yeah, if status is your reasoning, then I'd reconsider the CL. They're due for replacement in about 1.5-2 years, and as a status-seeker, that'll give you another reason to have to switch cars in a couple of years.
Best way to avoid getting bored with a car is to have a Beater of lesser value to you. That way you'll always appreciate your "nice car". If you drive anything exclusively for too long, you'll get tired of it, no exceptions.
I'm one who gets tired of cars if I drive them all the time, day to day, but if I don't, and I have something else for that, I can keep the pampered ones "forever" I think.

It's just too bad that even with low milage on my E coupe (less than 5000/year), I'll probably take a $30K hit on the trade in.

Hah status...?! Went to my son's little league game today and one of dads/kid on the opposing team drove there in a 300SL Gullwing and just parked it in the parking lot ... Now that's status...

Holy sh**. A real 300SL?
I agree, "status" is fleeing. To most people, the Benz "Star" emblem means all the status, i.e the actual model (CLS, E-Coupe, E, C, CL, etc.) doesn't mean much to the majority population, i.e, you're only impressing yourself really. Most people see "big or small Benz", the bigger the more "status" I guess in most cases, one can think.

How are these two cars even in the same class? Yes - go for the CL63 if you feel you can manage the cost of ownership (depreciation). It's like comparing a Cayman and a 911 turbo... Yes they share the same mfg but...

Go for it! CL63 AMG is the boss, especially in black. I would get it over a Bentley Continental GT anyday. Check out this bad boy:

What's status? You are so independent from others! You want to show them, you want them to know, you want them to approve of you, you care so much for their opinion... You are so dependent on them! You are just a social animal who wants to be admitted to the comfort of the pack. But there aren't really packs anymore like it used to be ages ago when it was critical for survival and when the instincts were formed that still drive you. Now you just want your neighbors, for whom you don't really care, to think of you as one of them while in reality this couldn't possibly matter less. So, status, REALLY? This is what you need MB for? This is for what you've been saving your hard earned penies? To impress people you don't really care for? Then go ahead, you sure deserve it.

You get tired of your car? Could it be because you bought it for status to impress others instead of getting what you would really enjoy yourself, something you could feel really good about? Shouldn't you be buying a car for yourself instead of for showing it to others? Perhaps AMG is not your true calling. You know, Jim Cameron, the Titanic and Avatar director, drives Chevy Volt and not because he couldn't afford MacLaren. Have you taken a closer look at Prius?

And yeah, I'm really tired of my house, so next year I' moving to a castle. Definitely. I just need to pick the coolest one around. (Well, probably not, but people on this forum wouldn't know this, so why don't I show them how cool I am?! It would make me feel so important.)

You've been exposed and have nothing to say on the subject. Your last defense is to attack my personality: this noob is crazy, don't listen to him! But this doesn't work, cause people see through it. Even you can't argue that wasting a fortune to impress your neighbors is silly. Spend your money on what makes YOU feel good. Unless the only thing that makes you feel good is to make others feel bad. Is this why you are attacking my person instead of staying on the subject? Take it easy! Just having fun in fact, I'm just bored as well, only not of my car, but of MBUSA. I've been trying to buy a new MB for half a year and now they are saying end of April...
