I'm not a big Diesel fan (not the logistics here, it's simply a personal and "feeling" thing), but I would have gotten a Diesel had I known about how insanely cheap they are to Lease, no question.
a. There is a distinct difference in the feel compared to gas
b. There is more engine noise at low speed or city driving or initial acceleration
c. It comes only in rear wheel drive (I live in Ohio and I am comfortable with all season tires and rear wheel drive - but weigh this in before buying this car in the winter belt)
But I really really liked it. I dont know how to explain, but the car felt so good driving back home (not just the money part). As a bonus it gave me 33 mpg on highway.
FYI. The gas version is about $ 50-100 more per month (depending on your bargain power) But you will get a all wheel drive.

Since then I have edited previous post after looking at the contract.
There is no need to feel bad. The purpose of tread is not not undo what you have done already (including me). It is to actually inform people what is possible at a particular time.
Again, it all depends on the the market factors - so get the best you can. I did not get the price that Dave got. But I am satisfied with my deal.
At the end of the day my dealer and CA were very happy and I left happy.
?? What other models come close to the E class diesel in Residual Value (RV)??
I have a 2005 ML 500 and am looking at the new ML (diesel or maybe V6 gasser) or the E wagon. What residual do these 3 have/where is that published?
Wish they still produced the E wagon diesel

I do a lot of bicycling and the E Sedan probably isn't going to be decent for that need.

Not everyone will get the price that Dave or I got (Conquest, Loyalty, Supply demand etc etc)
And not every one will get the MF that Dave or I got (Credit, Auto pay, No dealer mark up etc etc).
So lets say even if "I fudged or conveniently manipulated the numbers or even funnier may be I leased a C class loaner with 10000 miles" - people come here looking for information. They have to take all the info available and make an informed decision and verify that info with their CA with the basic understanding that the dealers have to make some money somewhere. They have bills to pay too.
As long as MB makes amazing cars, people like me will flock to the dealerships.
I have signed bad leases before and I am sure I will do it again in the future too. But I dont regret any of my leases that I signed before this. I got the best I could get at that particular time with the info I had.
I was actually looking for a GL/ML. And honestly if Dave did not start this thread, I would not have looked at the E class diesel. And if people get discouraged and do not post their deals "we" - the consumers as a whole will loose something in the process.
Good or bad - lets continue to share the info.

a) Thanks for posting this in this level of detail.

b) Now you got me all stirred up on this to the point that I have contacted dealers around town to see what they can do.

c) I am trying to bring myself up to speed on leasing payments so I don't get hosed on a deal that has different pricing. To that end I tried reproducing your payment and came up with 410.13 including the aquisition fee. What am I missing?
My formula was
payment=((Selling price - Residual+Acquistion Fee)/24+(Selling price + Residual)*MF)*(1+tax rate/100)
Was this an 2011 or 2012 model?
Also was your selling price arrived at as MSRP-10%- 2K(conquest money)?

$410 per month is a pretty good deal. I dont think you are missing anything.
I qualified for conquest (I have a BMW M3) and I would have qualified for loyalty (have a ML 350 with MBFS) too and winter event is open for any one. But both conquest and loyalty cannot be combined for obvious reasons...your are not being conquered form another luxury car manufacturer if you qualify for loyalty....

I dont know what other incentives could be combined.
There are so many other factors involved in these, I honestly I dont know what they are or how they were applied.
The car is so good, you will love it. Go get one and enjoy.

Not looking at the contract. It is a 12 e350 sport, with lane change assist, panorama roof, amg wheel package. Sticker was close to $58,000 and the deal was around $48,000. I am leasing it for 30 months with total of 30k miles, drive off is $2300 and 599 a month tax included and the maintenance program. I didn't shop around as I know the guy for a long time. I did switch from a BMW. And I am in southern cal.




I went to local dealer as website showed a loaded 2112 E wagon but it got delivered about 4 hours before I got there. Buyer was on vacation for weeks so it was at dealership for a long time but I just missed it.
I threw out the info on GREAT E BlueTec leases and he, of course, said that was bogus. He didn't want to see the sales writeup from here, etc.
The other MB dealer had no E Wagon and the salesman said I should go with R class, same motors as the 2012 E class----wrong. I had to coach him to look it up online .
One thing that I am sold on is the E350 Bluetec. It's a just a matter of finding the most cost effective way to own one now.

I don't qualify for any incentives but negotiated about 9% off MSRP on a $60k car. The terms work out to be $5k driveoff and $650 a month taxes and fees included with 10k/yr for 33 months. I think MF is .00158 and residual is 64%. As far as discount off MSRP goes, I'm pretty happy with it, but my monthly payment in light of a roughly $3500 down payment seems pretty high compared to those of you paying in the $500's with no money down.
Am I missing something here?
