Wow, my dealer is going all out!!!

I had to crack up at this offer below. Really? I have to schedule an appointment for it too? Wonder if they will give me a rental?

Time is of the essence.

Spring forward with our complimentary clock change.
Dear Brad Warden,

Spring is around the corner, and as the temperatures rise and we fill our calendars with fun plans, some things can get lost in the excitement.

One thing we shouldn't forget is that Daylight Savings Time begins on March 11, and the clock in your 2010 E550 needs to be reset. Schedule a complimentary clock adjustment today and we'll help ensure you're on time for all your spring festivities.

A properly reset clock is o ne less thing to worry about while you prepare to enjoy the warmer weather ahead. Trust Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City to take care of it properly.

Sincerely,

Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City

I receive those notices from my dealer also. I wonder if it's something MBUSA requires the dealer to do.

If you notice the owner's manuals do not have instructions for simple maintenance tasks like changing lamps, etc. Most car manuals do. I wonder if they think that if you can afford the vehicle you have no mechanical skills, never got your hands dirty or choose not to.

Clearly they are just trying to get people in the door so they can up-sell them into new cars, parts, service, etc. A cheap shot to those poor old folks and/or lazy peeps who don't know how to change the cars clocks.

My wife said as much as we paid for the thing it should set itself. Lol I agree!! I wonder how many round table discussion it took for them to decide this was the "ticket" service item to get people in the door.

I know I should probably be more grateful, but of all things they could of done for complementary's sake to get one in the door, at least make it worth it. I just feel MB really hates to do much for their prior customers unless they are making a buck. If they want to get me in the door on my day off to try to sell me something, a clock time change ain't going to do it!!!!

Why is this so funny? I have a clock radio that's been blinking 12:00 for years!

Instructions in the manual are very simple.
I like to watch the hands move around the dial when I change it and it has to move 11 hours.

I thought about this when my cars clock moved back 11 hours. I thought of all the technological wonders of MB and the countless patents and safety marvels like driver assist and blind spot recognition systems, and all they have created over the last century. My flippin clock has to move forward 11 hours instead of back 1 hour? Just sayin...
