E350 Sedan with 20 Inch Rims

Hey, I am new to this forum and I have just recently purchased some 20 inch rims for by 2011 E350 Sedan. I have noticed some cars with this size rims. I have been getting confilicted statements regarding the size tire that would fit without rub. I have been told that I can use a 245/35/20 in the front and a 275/30/20 in the back. However, most mechanics are saying that I will get rub with this configuration. They are recomending 245/30/20 in front and 285/25/20 in the back. I really do not want a rough ride and tires that potentially can be to small a sidewall. Can someone help.

Robbie, I was reading this earlier and was trying to make a determination of what you finally went with?

I am considering 245/35/20 in the front and 275/30/20 in the back, I want to fill a little bit of the gap but not lose the ride quality or get rub.

Thanks

Only MBs - the best or nothing
In the link Robbie provided, he clearly stated what he went with - 235/35-20 front and 275/30-20 rear (Kumho ecsta Spt). It is also clearly stated that 245/35-20 will not fit front without "some" work done to perch plate ("modifying" that perch is not recommended).

All the guys here is SFLA want me to do the 245/30/20 and 285/25/20. The look is sick and the roads are pretty good here but I am just nervous about the ride and damage as I am not the most careful guy when it comes to slowing down.

I am going to go with the recommended 235/35/20 in the front and 275/30/20 in the back. I just want a little more rubber on the road.

2012 e350
I have 235/35/20 and 275/30/20 on mind. I know 245/35/20 in the front would work too but depending on the tire brand.

Hey anyone with 20 on a 2011 sedan what offsets are you using on the back and front. I hAve 32 in front and 38 in the back and the back looks like it is sticking out a bit

You never said what widths your wheels are.

If rears are 9.5", then with et38 they would be flush with fenders.

However, based on your comment, I assume that wheels are 10", so with et38 and 275 tire, it does stick out by 6-7mm. Not a big deal though.

Thanks clmulli, nerve racking process for the last couple of months selecting a wheel and then figuring out how to get tires on that would not rub.

Aboutros, looks awesome. Did you end up going with 235-35-20 and 275-30-20? I just had My rims mounted today with that tire settup and its amazing to me that the car looks like it doesn't have to be lowered.

Rear offset seems a little off.

No problem, but that was all THREEMB'S advice. He really knows the tires sizes and offsets really well.

EmE247, what are you running on your car or anyone else with 20 on the rear.
