I have to say thought that more or less MB knows what they are doing with their designs. It's rare for them to screw up as badly as the bangled butt BMWs.

The biggest thing I would like to see with the E class is for the interior to look more organic, elegant and classy with some curves, like the S class.

I know I know about the whole Teutonic thing but this current design is not growing on me. Wish the interior experience was more upscale and closer towards the S than the C.

Having said that I LOVE what MB has done with the new C class -- both inside and out. That car is now a tremendous value for what you get.
+1 that's how I ended up with a w211 interior played a big role in my purchase. Even to the tune of spending some of the price difference on a warranty.

I truly have come to love the E's interior. It's a whole different feel than the C-Class, most noticeable from when I had a C as a Loaner for a couple of days, then went back to the E. This isn't to discount the C, though, as it is indeed an exceptional car (aside from the wheezing 4-banger that isn't effortless enough for my liking), IMO still the best looking in its class, inside and out. However, the E's interior is very noticeably statelier and "cushier", per-se. Also, it really harkens the classic M-B's, it's very much a modern homage, and it especially brings back memories of the W126.

I love the organic curves inside the W211, however, as well, although in retrospect, it isn't "pure M-B like" in some respects.... but then again, it's very elegant, therefore in respects it is.

The thing is, the W212 is like a case study in angularity, and if they start rigging on organic soft edges onto it, it'll look broken and disjointed, IMO. If it had a soft and organic interior, it wouldn't look as thematic and "together" as it does now.

The exterior looks stately and refined which is a good thing but too bad the distinctiveness of the E class is gone. What I really want to see is what improvements, if any, they made to the interior...

Apart from that I hope they remembered to turn on the side airbags

Live in SoCal and right now renting a car, until I fulfill my long time dream, buying MB car for the 1st time. I can do it today if I had the answer...

Need your help, pro

Thx
Dear OP.

The S550 is what you really want, OK? You know you want it... You just know that if you buy the E350 you'll be kicking yourself for not getting the S550. Now stop worrying, forget the E350, get the S550 and have many happy and safe miles with it.

Get S550. it should have all the electronics stuff you are looking for. At least I had BWM of 2008 and it had all this stuff, so MB supposed have it as well.
