Plus the dealership likes you , Renntech loves you, and R and R are your new found friends. Seen the C 63 driving to work Monday with the Carbon Grill... fantastic!

you going to night under fire? Joe is racing the dragster there... I am sticking an MB emblem on it

You don't need an e class to beat mustangs. A used 5000$ vr6 turbo is all it takes.

Running 12.5 in an e550 is insane. Those are not so old Porsche 911 turbo numbers

Would Mercedes back up that statement? I think if push come to shove and they knew about the tune, no way would they cover anything motor wise especially with the claimed HP increase. No way the pistons and motor were designed for that kind of hp, at least not for any sustained periods. Just my thoughts.

Well yeah, even the non-modified one, I like to believe, is running 12.8 per C&D

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...an-test-review

C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 10.4 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 17.5 sec
Rolling start, 5–60 mph: 4.7 sec
Top gear, 30–50 mph: 2.9 sec
Top gear, 50–70 mph: 3.5 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 112 mph

I'm not really impressed with these times that I am finding.
I was hoping for tuned E550 4matic turbos to be running close with 100% stock E63 M157 cars.

Any updates?

I'm curious to see how tuned E550 4matics are stacking up against tuned 2014+ E63s.

Wondering if all tunes are created equal? I know there is a lot involved but from from one tuner to another how much more power can one tuner get?
Was thinking the car would atleast trap 114-115

I'm with usamuscle...

111 doesn't seem like any more than a stock E550 would run ...

However, with a 100hp and 100tq bump that most of these guys claim on the dyno (at the crank) (renntech for example) .. i would expect about the same 0-60mph as they say the tuning doesn't kick in until after you're already in 2nd gear (to not destroy the gearbox) ... and 12.4? Would like to have seen something close to 12.1-12.2 .. but I know I know.. elevation, conditions, cars, temp .. 1000 variables on the day of the race

We can magazine race all we want, at the end of the day, real track numbers are all that count - they do not lie, cheers to the owner of the tuned E550, the OP, nice ride

and I asked two benz dealerships about the renntech tune -- they stated they would not validate any warranty claim on the engine or ECU/TCU or transmission if I did the tune .. so good luck to all these people that have dealers that say "No problem! tune away and we'll 100% back the benz warranty" ..

I just don't think things will be rosy if you blow the motor and they find out you have a tune. Renntech or not. I just can't see them saying ok, brand new motor for free. I been wrong though.

Lastly remember the 14's are all about 200+ lbs heavier due to the awd. So that could be another 1-2 mph. This is what Iam starting to see between the 2013 rwd e63 vs 2014 4matic e63. About 2-3 mph difference in the quarter.

I couldn't agree with you more regarding the warranty with mods like a turbo tune...

yur right, the 14's are piggies.. heavier and balanced a bit differently with the 4 matic setup. If yur a diehard, you could lose the rear seats, all the mats and rear trunk liner and spare, all the manuals and toolkit and likely find about 200lbs in savings... would be interesting to see then what a '14 4-matic ran on near empty tank of gas in that scenario

Renntech HP gains inflated?

$2700 is worth it for 3/10s of a second quarter mile improvement but how did they figure that the mod gave you 530 hp and 600 lbft from your 4.7 liter bi-turbo ?
An '06 E55 stock with "only" 470hp and 515 lbft does 12.3 sec quarter mile.

There's no comparison between a Mustang/Camaro and a Mercedes E550 tuned bi-turbo. The Mercedes is class and the overall driving experience is more than about a 1/4 mile time.

I like your idea of the sleeper. A 12-second luxury car with full interior is just amazing. I've got an N/A E550 and would be happy with an ECU tune to complement my exhaust and get this car in the 435hp range.

I have a stock 2013 E550. It is certainly fast but the suspension is a little floaty for that kind of power. I would want to upgrade the suspension before throwing that much extra power at it. My previous ride was a modded 2008 535xi which felt much more composed at speed.
Thing I dislike the most about my E550 is the lack of adjustability in the lower seat cushion!

Eurocharged ECU tunes are much less expensive and they have alot of experience with Merecedes. You just pay for the name with Renntech. I would not advise a tune on any car if you expect Mercedes to cover your warranty claims.

If Merc ever published official 1/4mi times for our E550/500 (either RWD or 4Matic), what are they? Thanks!

Just search for both and you will see Eurocharged are the real deal and much less expensive than Renntech.
