So where is this CLA supposed to be positioned in the MB lineup? Under the C-class?
I also understand that the length and width of the CLA is larger than the C.

I like it since I saw once in the mags .It's like baby version to CLS .As far I know, price will be lower than C . C's interior looks nicer though
My biggest complain is as usual the way they design the hood and bumper cover integrated grill lol

14' CLS550
Nice looking car, but here's my issue.. starting at 30K, whats that mean? Lease for about 350/month. That's great for all the 18 y/o kids with no $ who want to be seen in a Mercedes. Its going to be the next *****'d out Mercedes just like the C class. Great move by Benz to sell more cars, but there "cheapening" the brand. I would consider the AMG version of this car since it would be more "exclusive". I really don't know what my next car will be since i don't like the looks of the new E class.

No problem for me because I work from my home office, however, potentially a big problem for others.
I'm guessing some people stay away from this forum at work because of this.
...but she is VERY attractive.

Can't wait for the AMG CLA45 4Matic. I hope MBUSA doesn't wait too long after the September 2013 intro of the regular CLAs.

How long before MB makes a $20K car?

From a recent article in Forbes:
There are many activities employees do that waste time at work. Excessive meetings, co-worker interactions, office politics, and fixing mistakes are a few. According to a recent Salary.com survey, one of the biggest culprits is surfing the Internet.
Specifically, the survey revealed 64 percent of employees visit non-work related websites every day at work.
The younger, more tech-savvy worker demographic appeared to be the biggest group of recreational Web surfers. Of employees between the ages of 18 and 35, approximately 73 percent reported spending time inappropriately at work on a daily basis.

+1, The new CLA is taking away MB's prestige factor as one of the more exclusive, expensive car manufacturers. This car will no doubt sell like hot cakes; Mercedes really is sinking down to selling mass produced cheap cars like Toyota, etc...Aren't some Prius' more than $30K? The Kate Upton car wash video was NOT very appealing to the traditional owners of luxury Mercedes vehicles(I thought it was kind of trashy...)MB made so many strides in car sales last year and this year...they really are getting greedy by introducing this car to make more money

They already sell MB manufactured SMART under $20 000.

Porsche Macan S SportDesign / Ex M-B's: 11 & 10 & 06 E350's, 02 S500
Not feeling it at all. The design is a convoluted mess, interior strippings don't match via door to dash, and it just looks panderingly "immature", like an unintelligent, over-complicated, full-of-trend-fads design.
It'll sell extremely well at that price, pull the brand perception down as people will be scoring these in the mid $20's when they inevitably start discounting them, and you'll probably have a lot of young kids with chips-on-shoulders doing FWD peel-outs in their new Benzes, etc.
Business wise, it'll be good in the short run, but being that I still think Mercedes' biggest hallmark in the States is the brand perception/cachet/prestige, even with it being pulled down by a larger selection/dilution of models, mostly getting more comfortable in the lower ranges, I feel in the long run it'll devalue the "Luxury Brand'age" of Mercedes-Benz.
We'll see.
.... I also think the C Coupe was the first to touch on this. IMO that car has no premium aura about it when you see it, as in it would fit right in next to an Accord, with that overly upright Sedan-ish look for a Coupe, ugly giant door frame and un-sexy windowhouse (which a Coupe of a even reasonable price should never have), etc.
