Purchased it used from Foothills SAAB in 1985. Slate blue metallic over tan velour. Front wheel drive, five speed, ignition between the heated seats, all the options plus some great accessories like the rear louvers, mudflaps, European one piece headlights, electric mirrors and locks, perimeter alarm (if you put your arm through the sunroof while it was armed the alarm would go off) trumpet horns and off road swaybars and shocks. I loved all 224K miles I put on that car. Took me between Chicago and Ft Collins CO during my undergrad and many city living years after. Great mountain car, I think it was the first time I ever felt brand affinity like that. There were very few SAABs in the mid west back then, and every time I passed one we would flash the brights at each other.
Wasn't that a nice driving car.
And the ignition on the floor (from model 99 already) was for reason to lock the gear shift on reverse before you can take the key out. This effectively reduced number of stolen SAAB cars as just jumping the start did not do it. Somehow had to get the car off of the reverse gear too. First car maker to have this feature, like the daytime running lights (DRL) too.
