VIN decoders giving differing info

Hello!

I'm ready to buy a transmission service kit from FCP Euro. Every single one for my car says either FOR option code A89 or NOT FOR option code A89

Another post in another forum suggests this might be for the start stop technology.

lastvin.com seems to be the website recommended most. I get "ERROR! Could not encode VIN" for my WDDHF9ABXBA446178
vindecoderz.com is able to decode and does NOT list A89
mbdecoder.com is able to decode and does NOT list A89
mb.vin is able to decode and DOES list A89 REIBUNGSREDUZIERT

if mb.vin hadn't been the one with differing info I would have just bought the NON A89 kit but now I'm here having to double check.

What's Reibungsreduziert mean???

What year/make/model is your car? Lastvin doesn't do cars newer than about 2018.
Other than that, are you 100% sure you entered it correctly? I've yet to enter a VIN it can't do (other than the conditions stated above).

Someone with patience might come along and enter the vin into their version of WIS and answer your question.
Google says your german word means "reduced friction".

A89 is Reduced Friction, meaning you need the ATF-134FE fluid.

I used the website https://mbtools.me/vin and got the following info for your car. I don't know why it doesn't describe the codes that are blank. Ultimately, when you change your fluid, if blue, stay with blue (ATF-134FE). If red, stay with red (ATF-134)

By the way, Google is your friend (or not).

If your car is 2011 model it should have 40 000 miles transmission service interval meaning the fluid is NOT the low friction fluid. Low friction fluid equipped cars have it I think at 80 000 miles.

"We recommend servicing your 7G-TRONIC transmission fluid (red in color) every 30,000 miles and 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission fluid (blue in color) every 77,000 miles. If your vehicle requires blue fluid, it will likely be 2011 or newer—you can tell by the option code 'A89'. The blue fluid is the lowest viscosity fluid offered on the 722.9 transmission and is not backward compatible with red fluid. If you mistakenly add the wrong fluid, simply drain it out and replace it with the correct fluid."

My first MB was a 2011 E350 and it was with the 40 000 mile ATF change interval.

In my view, if you're seeking details about your vehicle, ClearVin's vin decoder service is an excellent choice. It's complimentary and offers comprehensive information sourced from reliable databases.

Actually, ClearVin doesn't give what you need to know. Specifically, it doesn't provide the datacard for the specific vehicle. It identifies the year, make, model, and country of origin, but then everything else is generic to the model identified. Both www.lastvin.com and https://mb.vin will provide specific configuration information with all options as built, though LastVin is more complete.

@mgiara LastVin does now decode your VIN -- see attached. It appears that you DO NOT have the new version of the 7G transmission that uses the low viscosity fluid.

There's also www.Monroneylabels.com if you want to buy the OEM window sticker for the car. Lastvin.com is free though.
