Not sure if you're open to CPO, but I've seen some low mile 2012s at close to $10k less than what you've been offered. Still, even for new, I'd imagine with the facelift already on trucks to dealers you might be able to do better than $3k off sticker. You are referring to the pre-facelift, right?

Dealer has triple net cost of about $50.8k in it not counting any MBUSA monies. I would keep haggling until you get below $52k and be prepared to walk if he won't do it. Find your closest 4-5 dealers and start working the internet sales guy. Find your best two prices and pit them against one another.

Thank you for your input! Will do!

Sadly, I live in Rochester NY, where there is only 1 dealer within 50 miles range, 3 within 100

Shop around.

You're not even in the right ballpark. You should be able to easily get a $7.5K to $10K discount on a pre facelift 2013.

This is not realistic. You are saying $10k / 16.5% discount should be expected when the dealer price is ~88.5% of sticker after their triple net costing. The only way to get beyond that is for MBUSA trunk monies to be added in and the dealer be content with a ZERO profit transaction.

OP - if you are sniffing at 10% off sticker (either side) then you did a damn fine job of negotiating. Us the internet and don't be afraid of making the drive if the web sales guy will send you his offer in writing. Worst case is you play the deal off of your local dealer. Competition = better pricing!

I actually took your advice and told my representative that I came equipped with opinions of my fellow forum-ers. Managed to get $4020 off Invoice to a final price of $52,450!

Now, you are in the ballpark. [Assuming that you are buying and not leasing]......If you are interested in the extended warranty, now is the time to demand 15% off that price or no deal. After you sign the sales contract, you have no leverage to negotiate the extended warranty. Get them to give you all weather mats FOR FREE. If you are using MBFinancial, demand they take the pay the first payment. It's worked twice for me when buying new!

You can choose to believe what you want. When I got my 2010 E350 I received $7,500 off invoice plus $500 additional lease incentives. Read through the forum posts and you will find people that have received $10K discounts.

A pre facelift 2013 with just the P1 option should command a HUGE discount.

If memory serves me right, I read that there's a woman at a MB dealer in California selling the extended warranty for $1,700 over the phone (I know I read it either here or on Benzworld but I've got bad allergies and have a bit of medicine head this morning and thus can't find it). Do a search and you might save yourself some time arguing over the cost.

I got around 8k off sticker price.. so 3k seems a bit low to me.. and considering that 2014s are out there must be better deals around.

Just signed for a 2013 E350 wagon yesterday. got $9k off MSRP ($65k MSRP) plus 2 year extended warranty (total of 6 year 75k miles).
Could've probably got another another grand or so off, but my 5 year old was getting restless in the dealership (it was early evening, dealer was ready to close, son was tired and hungry).

Picking it up this afternoon. This is in Central CA. there are probably 6 to 8 dealers within 100 mile, next closest dealer to our local one is about 70 miles away.

Wife didn't want to travel to SF area for a better deal.

congrats ! i know it's too late but actually you should've used your son as an excuse. tell them you have to go because your son is tired and hungry. just make it quick or you'll have to go back another day. most of the salespeople, not necessary car dealerships, don't want to see you go after all the talks and worrying you might get the car elsewhere. they'll try their hardest and fastest to get you and your son out of there. try that again next time and you can send me a check of 50% of your additional savings .

Push for 20+% off of MSRP. It's been done and doable with W212's and with an extremely extensive facelift which can trick some general consumers into thinking it's an total-redesign, don't let a salesman tell you otherwise.

WOW - you are a master at negotiations!!! I only negotiated $10k off for my brother-in-law. Can I ask what is your secret as I am looking for a 2014 model?

Not really a master of anything, just lucky. I went in last Friday looking for a low mileage CPO 2011 or 2012 to replace my wife's 2007 E350. After a quick chat with the "sales manager" he said, "Why buy a CPO when I can sell you a new 2013 at about $14,000 under sticker?" He had five available at around the same MSRP, $62,000, that he was willing to sell for $47.9.

I said I wanted to think about it, and when I returned on Sunday ready to buy he said they had all been sold Saturday except for one white one, and that while he might be getting more 2013s he wouldn't sell them at the price he quoted me. Sure enough, the other four were off the lot and except for the white one he had several others with the Designo interior stickering out at over $69,000.

My wife loved the white one, which was equipped with everything but the panoramic roof, so we drove it home that evening (why do these things always happen in the evening)? After a little "nudging" from my wife they went from $47.9 to $47.4. I still don't know why they were selling that group of cars at that price, but I'm glad I happened to luck into it.

Do you think this type of deal will trickle down into the CPO market, reducing those prices even further? That would be sweet...! Much congrats on the new car.....!

Thanks very much. Regarding the CPO market....it's hard to generalize. I don't think the deal I got was at all typical; I think that the dealer -- one of the largest MB dealers in the L.A. area, for some reason HAD to sell those cars by the end of April.

My wife had gone to a different MB dealer whose owner had excellent business reasons to bend over backwards to give her a good deal on a new 2013, and the closest he could come was $51,000 plus tax on a $62k+ car.

I asked and they wouldn't do 20% off MSRP, so I decided I'd rather get the newer version of the same car. OR maybe even consider A6,535i or GS350.
K-A, you seem like a very knowledgable person in cars. What do you say about 535i vs. E350? or even stripped down 550i vs E550.

Funny thing is, I noticed SO MANY STANDARD OPTIONS on the 550i, seemingly making it into such a bargain. Moreover, from my knowledge, the 2014 550i's will come with 435 hp and 480~ around-ish lb-ft of torque? seems like a no brainer to me?

May I ask for your advice sir?
