Anyone installed Sprint Booster in 2014 yet?

Did anyone install (or tried to) Sprint Booster in 2014 face lift E? Especially E550? If yes, is it the same part number SBME0012S as in 2010-2012?

also wondering this...

I thought the models 2013 and younger don't have the accelerator delay...?

A member on here installed the Sprint Booster on his 2013 E350... not sure if it will work on the '14, if it does im purchasing one.

I haven't heard this before... I've been meaning to order a spring booster later this year too.

Why dont you tune it and pick up like 70-100 hp ? Instead of spin booster?

i mean you can do that also, but a sprint booster is only 285+shipping, when you go to sell the car you dont have to worry about taking hard losses because you can simply take out the booster... I plan on just doing an ECU upgrade as well as getting the sprint booster if its compatible with my 2014 E350.

+1. Instant response for cheap coin. Makes you appreciate the 550/350 a little bit more.

Do you think I can use this with my 350? I really hope so.

You mean yours does not? Must be the only one out there. Both of my 2010 cars - E350 and E550 - had it, as well as 2012 E350.

BTW, 2014 E350 (at least the one I have) has significantly less lag than 2012 (which in turn had a bit less lag than 2010). They must have tweaked something. After driving it for almost 5 months, I feel there's about as much response as in 2012 E350 with SprintBooster.

Understood :) but do we have any dyno numbers with and without spin booster ?

austin3522 03-12-2014 09:54 PM

not sure, so far from what i have read the Sprint Booster simply sends Acceleration signals to your ECU much faster, so the E350 while on Sport mode equipped with a Sprint Booster on Red sounds to me like a total different animal >:)

What do you mean by "yours does not?" My 2010 E550 has the accelerator delay and it is very annoying at times. I'm sure I will get a ticket one day when the car "stalls" and it really needs to go for the traffic and I have to step on it making a small burn on the road.

But hey, perhaps I can take that ticket up with MBUSA...

So how will we know or not if the Sprint Booster works with our current 2014 E Class' ?

@ uasmuscle, it only eliminates the drive by wire throttle delay. No HP increase. It basically gets rid of that .5-1.0 second hesistation from when you step on the gas peddle to the engine's response. So important when entering traffic and other situations. Basically a cable directly connected to the linkage of the carburetor. It's what muscle cars from the 60's and 70's always had and was appreciated.:y

I'm sure a representative from SprintBooster will chime in on this thread soon. He's on the board pretty often.

Ahhh. That's very interesting. And also good points.
Wonder if we have spin booster vendor in here that can chime in ?

Oops. You're correct. I mistook "younger" in your original post as 2013 and before instead of 2013 on.

Do not know about 2013, but 2014 (they were changes other than just cosmetic for the year's car) I feel the delay is almost non-existent. I started the topic before acquiring the car. Once I obtained them, I no longer feel any need for SpringBooster (even if its compatible due to Eco start system). It applies equally to both 350 and 550 engines.
