2014 E550 Need Adapter for Iphone 5???
 

The new 2014 MB's (E550) come with the old style I4phone adapter. Does anyone know if MB or an aftermarket adapter is available to fit the new "Lighting" style adapters, so I can charge my phone? The car is new and 70K and the phone adapter is outdated (not LOL). Thanks.

I think at the car price iPhone 5 should be included. When I bought BMW it was coming with included iPod. Why Mercedes can't afford so simple thing?

Do you have USB lightning adapter cable? Then you can use it connecting to USB port in center storage.

Most places now sell a iPhone 4 to 5 converter wire.

OP, It's outdated because nobody can keep up with changes and if I was a betting men I'd say there are far more old connector iPods iPads in use today than new ones so MB is including the one that is most likely to fit the current user base. Apple sells an adapter (actually they sell two) that will convert the new connector to the old style for $29-$39. Just go buy one!

How quickly things change...I remember for my 2008 BMW the I-pod cost $500. As for the I-phone, I agree that for the price MB should have both.

lightning cable was $10.00 and I use this to charge my 5s via the USB port, and I used BT stereo connection to transmit audio/voice

$10.... big deal. BT works flawlessly

This is what I did, cheap and easy.

This will do the trick with the factory adapter. However with each iOS update then the connectivity will be questionable.
