2014 E550 - battery dead? :(

I drove the car 100 miles about 7 days ago. It has been in my garage since except for one short run to the grocery store (15 minutes, about a mile or so in distance).

Got in this morning and tried to start the car and nothing. Absolutely no response from the car as if it's completely dead. I popped the Keyless Go button off and put the car key in directly and still absolutely nothing. No hint of life on the dash or anywhere.

The car is stock (except wheels). No electronic gear plugged in. Car is brand new with 1000 miles on the odometer and I've owned it for 2 months.

I've got road side assistance coming over in 20 minutes. Argh, annoying.

I searched online and it seems a lot of w212 owners have had these random battery drain scenarios but most of the posts are dated back to 2010/2011.

Anyone else seen this recently? This totally sucks.

Interesting - as an E550 owner I am curious as to the outcome of this. Did you keep the car locked in the garage? The reason I am asking is that on German cars in my experience you have to lock them to minimize the electricity being drawn from the battery.

I had such problem with 2010 car only, and it wasn't completely dead, it could illuminate dashboard, play music, it couldn't start engine though. The car has drain battery protection for example if I leave car door open, cabin light will be shut off after some time. Did your mechanic just charge of the battery or replace?

24 hour roadside assistance showed up at my house. The technician ran a test on the battery and said it was completely toast. It was showing only 4.3v and was failing all tests. The car exhibited no signs of power, nothing on the dash, start button does nothing, etc. He replaced the battery under warranty and the car is back to perfect now.

He said to keep monitoring the car and if everything continues to be fine, then it was a bad battery and he said he's seen this happen on new cars from time to time. But if it happens again, something on the car is completely draining the battery and I would have to call him back to restart the car but this time take it into the dealer for diagnostics.

Unfortunately don't know more at this point.
