2012 E350 Keyless-Go/Brake in Cold Weather

For past a few weeks it was very cold here in Northeast.

On one of the morning, I tried to start the car but the Brake Pedal couldn't be depressed, i.e. very hard and didn't use excessive force. I pushed the start/stop button a few times, display turns of and off and no abnormal messages.

After a while, somehow I was able to depress the Brake Pedal and start the car.

Is this brake-pedal-lock expected in cold weather (say freezing point) ?

Also, on one of morning I felt that it took a few times to start the car (was able to depress brake pedal, but the car doesn't start right away after you push the button).

Thanks a lot !
Vincent

Possible battery issue? I ignored the slow starting and eventually needed a tow due to a dying battery. Everything else worked fine, just not enough juice to turn the starter motor. Good news was I had only had the car 2.5 months so dealer installed new one for free.

Maybe you depressed the brake twice and triggered the "hold" feature right before you shut the engine.
