Hey everybody, today i was going on the 15 south freeway and ran over a tire. I was getting on the freeway and i was in the "truck" lane, and well the big rig in front ran the tire over, i swerved to the left but it still went under my car. I stopped and checked for cosmetic damage, none was found, thank god for that. but I'm still worried it could have damaged some under pinnings of the car. Would this warrant a trip to the dealer to get checked?

Damn.. you've had nothing but bad luck with the road lately. Hopefully nothing is damaged in the undercarriage.

To ease your concern then definitely make an appt. If you do not see anything hanging, stains on your garage floor, hear any audible changes, or notice any steering issues at high speeds, then I would wait until next scheduled service visit. There is a good amount of plastic shielding underneath which does a decent job vs road debris. Glad to hear there is no front end damage.

I do not hear, or feel any difference in the car, im guessing its just my paranoia kicking in. :/ i will be getting it checked out when the next service interval comes up! I appreciate the input!

nailed a pothole 2 weeks ago...two brand new tires gone and a front rim.

x2 on getting it checked out, will clear your mind/make sure all is well. Even though everything seems 'fine' you never know till its up in the air and have an open visual.

Get your alignment checked. They should notice any issues/damage (if any) when doing the alignment.

I wish they had more of the toll roads sections in So Cal. I would pay the extra premium to travel in lanes with less cars..

Preach. The 261 toll freeway towards irvine is heaven. No tires in the road, not that many cars, and no cracks or anything. If cali had more roads like that, i wouldn't be that afraid to go out into the freeway. Cali should do something like that, kinda like a "premium" freeway.

Sorry to hear! Potholes are a bummer. I know this is hard to believe, but I hit a bridge seperation on an off ramp in Mass last month and dented all 4 of my 19's. Needed a flatbed to get home:rolleyes:

Id get it checked at your service...
