Am I asking for too much..

I've had my vehicle up for sale for a few weeks now...

2010 Arctic White E350 RWD
34,166 Miles
Almond MB Tex
Black Ash Wood Trim
Panoramic Roof
Sport Package
P2 Package
3M 35% Tint
18" Wheels with new Tires

All maintenance has been done consistently and is up to date. Not a single scratch or dent on the vehicle. The paint is in spectacular condition (always serviced by Automobilia). The interior black and almond contrast is very elegant. All rattles have been resolved and the car is mechanically very sound.

I purchased back in early 2013 for $41k OTD with 25k miles and 1 year factory warranty left. I was rear ended back in November at a stop sign, but it was minor and the entire rear bumper was replaced by MB.

I'm asking for $36k or best offer, is this reasonable?

Not to be bearer of bad news but since you asked.

2011 with 35k mi CPO with unlimited miles wrrty are easily $33k range and 4 matic are $35k

Then you get 1200 back in finance money plus 1.74% and 2yr free maint. ($699)

So a 2010 with a bad Carfax is way way less.

I got a p2 distronic 2011 bluetec CPO with 33k mi for $34,000 before the feb incentives.

The CPO is worthy $2-3k plus the $1200 and $699 make a CPO car worth 4-5k more (depending on time left for CPO warranty) than non until end of feb. Hopefully for you mb ends incentives feb 28 making that CPO deal not so good.

I am going to sell my 2010 soon too so I am In the same boat. It will be a 65k msrp 2010 4 matic 80k mi p2 Distronic, multicontour, and night view with real leather mint condition no accidents. and will list for $23990.

Nice car - but I'd agree its probably too much.

Bought a 2011 E350 CPO two weeks ago (18k), Sport Pkg., Leather, P1 for $33,400.

You're probably a $27k-$29k car.

Hopefully the combination of options will yield a good amount of interest and I can eventually get somewhere around 32k-34k (a bit ambitious).

Many independent euro car dealers in the tri-state say that the following combo is very desirable (I couldn't find any MB dealers with this exact car on their lot):

Arctic White with Black Pano Roof (the key feature), Sports Package, the Black (Black Ash Wood Trim, Roof Liner, Dash, and Floor liner) & Almond Interior, plus the P2.

Is everyone quoting prices OTD?

2014 E550-sold 😩
^ I would agree with this value above ($27-$29K). I bought my Calcite white 2010 E550 4Matic with Pano, P2, Parktronic, heat/cool seats, leather, etc. with slightly more miles than yours for $31,000 only a month ago. This was from a dealer as well and some warranty still left. Private party sales are difficult as many are looking for financing and prefer going through the dealer for this as opposed to working with a bank.

i use nada guides as a starting point. they're pegging your car at $33,975 for a "clean retail"

since you don't have the CPO unlimited miles warranty offer, and some minor accident damage, i would price it down from this if you really want to move it.

I received the attached via email just yesterday... Would it make financial sense to keep the car for good (eventually passing it along to my son), or trade in now and get something newer with all the deals currently available

I purchased for $41k OTD, and now almost a year later I owe $26k... Any thoughts?

Always treat the trade-in and purchase as two separate deals. You could probably get the $26k for your car from the dealer, BUT negotiate the purchase price of the new vehicle first. Then, tell the dealer the price you expect for your car. TMV "good" with printout in hand will demonstrate that you have done your homework. Just be honest with yourself and the dealer, it's a great way to begin the transaction. Don't be surprised if they return the honesty in-kind.

Whatever you do, make it clear to the dealer that these are separate transactions.

The big problem you have is the accident if it is on the carfax. That docks the value 2k.

Wholesale your car in auction or trade is 26k max with a clean carfax. But with an accident, even minor, it is 24k.

So private party value could be $28000 with a clean carfax, but prob $26000 with a accident carfax.

60% buyers only want cpo, that leaves 40%

of those 40% , maybe 10 % will consider a $30,000 car with an accident, even if its minor. so your shopping 4% of the E class buyers IMO. So pricing has to be below market vs above.

I agree the color is well liked with the pano.

when i was shopping for a 2010 e350 around may of last year i got a couple of offers on cars with P1 and around 17k-22k miles for 35-36 otd, so even with p2 and the panorama room and minor accident damage i think the most youd get is 30-32k

Take it to Carmax and see what they will offer you for it. If the MB dealer is offering you 26, Carmax may give you closer to 30 since they would probably sell it for 32. They normally only make a couple of thousand on the cars they sell.

I really like my car, so rather than try to be financially conscious I think I may keep it for the long run.

Thanks everyone for the advice.. If there's anything else please share.

There are over 6 E350s with lesser miles than yours listed at or below $30k - asking price.

Based on the actual transaction price, you probably can get them for abt 28k. And that put you at or below 26k. easy. Keep the car.

id say keep it too, you know the accident damage wasnt a big deal, but any perspective buyer will see that and devalue the car a few thousand due to the uncertainity of how bad the accident was and the chance that youre trying to sell the car because you might find it unsafe.

Smart to keep it and not take that big financial hit from your original purchase last year. They are great cars that can run for many miles and not much else you can replace them with for so little money.

I was trying to capture a certain type of buyer, one who wants my color combo and exact options. I didn't find too many within a 150 mile radius.

I know that these cars can last many hundred thousand miles if maintained. I have all service records and have taken care of the car very well since purchase. Service has never been neglected or postponed.

Plus there's a new PS pump thanks to the Marriott! lol

here's the thing and I dont want to come across as rude to you.

That 150 mile radius ? yeah, doesn't mean much because one can buy a CPO 2010 with lesser miles for abt $7k less than your price (36k). That also means that, one, if willing can fly - inspect - sign on document - and have the car shipped in the enclosed car transportation - all of that for $2k. Still got 5k left. I did that. One a 1 of 3 quartz blue C63s in the country.

One way would be to keep it listed and wait for that specific buyer.

I would keep that car and enjoy it and pay it off

I traded my 2011 E350 4MATIC

Sport Package
P2 Package
Pano Roof
AMG Wheels
40k miles

I got $30k for it on the trade in. The dealership now has my car listed for sale as a CPO vehicle for $34,900. I think I got fair value for it.

^You definitely got a great trade in price for that car from the dealer as long as you were treated just as fair on the 2014 price.

2012 CLS550, 2014 E350 C,2010 E350 Sport - sold, 2006 CL500 -SOLD, 2006 E350 - SOLD - 2006 Saab 9.3
My trade in

For the record and to compare to present trade in values.

In June of 2013 I traded in my pristine 2010 White E350 Sport with 28,535 miles - it had the beige interior and P1 - I was given $31,500 as trade in value against the purchase of a CPO 2012 CLS550.

I guess my timing was dead on since the values of E350's have fallen a huge %.

With the new facelift on the 2014's and heavy discounts this has affected the real world values of 2010 - 2013 E's

I'd keep your E and enjoy its use

Good Luck

I think 36k is too much for that car, sorry.

I got mine about 6 months ago for 36,000 and its a year newer with 4matic and the nicer rims.

2011 E350 4matic w amg sport package
31k miles
front and back tint
P1
black on all black interior
