19x9.5 38et and 19x10.5 32et Will this Fit???

I finally know what wheels I want for this coming spring. I am looking into 19x9.5 38et front and 19x10.5 32et back. I think the front will fit. Only worry is the front calliper and hoping the rear will fit. I know the wheels will stick out a bit and it's the flush look I am going for. I have an E550 W212 so hope someone can chime in if they have come across this. Thx :)

Fronts will be passed fenders by about 7mm (probably a bit too much IMHO), while rears by a whopping 16mm (IMHO way too much).

How is the offset measured?

For instance if the offset was 45, would that put the tires more inboard on the car, or make them stick out even further?

The higher the offset the inner the wheels will stick in.

But once I lower my car with links it should put my camber between -1 to -2 in which should sit close to flush correct??

Your car looks stunning. I noticed your from Vancouver as well. Should meet up one day. Would love to see your car in person. Do you think the specs I am looking for would clear rubbing?

I notice a lot of people running 35 in front and 30 in the rear. Why is that? Wouldn't it be best/easier to have 35 on all four tires? Would there really be rubbing with a 35? I don't see how it would make a difference on a RWD, and it would be nice to have that little bit of added protection with a higher sidewall

Above are the perfect width/offset wheels combination/specs for a flush fitment (as the pictures proof) for this specific car (non-AMG). Which is very different from the OP's wheels' specs which are way too aggressive even for E63 with its mildly more pronounced fenders than a non-AMG W212.

Those are the best wheels I have seen on a W212. I see they are Wald, any idea how much they run?

I see Vossen has the CV5 that looks the same and is only available in 20"

Question I have is for a square setup 19x 8.5 is a 45 offset or a 35 offset recommended with 245/35/19 tires. The stock 18x8.5 are 45 offset with the 245 width tire. I have seen both on here and both are some say 35 is better, some say 45 is better. Which is better and why. They both seem to work.

thanks

My 2014 E350 is 18x8.5 with ET48 not 45.

I believe our Oem offset is 48 for our AMG 18 inch wheels

D&G 03-01-2014 01:08 AM

Strange enough I was doing some research and found this set up to be pretty flush for the Lexus IS. Our cars are much larger in size and therefore should fit without rubbing shouldn't it?

ThreeMBs... I've been searching like a crazy man trying to educate myself and find the best advice on wheel offsets. Your name has been mentioned before as the "go-to" guy for fitment recommendations. Your above response pretty much nails what I needed to know, but wanted to clarify so I make sure....

The wheels I'm considering (triple spoke 5-star AMG reps) are the same staggered sizes as mentioned here, 19s by 8.5/9.5, but the offset is 35 all around. I figure the 2mm difference on the front from the above mentioned 33mm is negligible, but what about 35 on the rear? Will that look and run okay?

Front is fine with either 245/35-19 or 255/35-19 tire.

Rear is borderline with 275/30-19 tire, but will stick out a bit with 285/30-19 tire, unless you can find a 285 tire with round shoulders and as narrow section width as possible (fyi: "normal" section width of most 285/30-19 tires is 11.4" on 10" wide wheel or 11.2" on 9.5", so look for a tire with section width of 11.2" or less on 10" wide wheel, which will correspond to 11" on 9.5" wheel - Pirelli's Pzero is the narrowest tire in that size I know of, but it is square and is not round).

So 275 rears with 35 offset on 19x9.5 and no drop... should be a safe choice. Sounds like it's time to buy some wheels. Thanks!

D&G, did you ever end up trying fitting 9.5" upfront? Did by chance anyone else tried it (9.5" wide) upfront?

threeMBs (yoda),

If I simply want to swap out my non AMG wheels for some similar replica 5 stars that fit my OEM tires, I am assuming the 45 offset would be right? I am just looking to swap out my OEM wheels that are beaten up with another 17x8 replica for the mean time until I decide what to do long term.

I am running 20x9 32et in which is equivalent to 19x9.5 38et offset up front. However you will lose 3mm in the strut side. Therefore this should fit and also depends on tire size. 235/35/19 would be ideal IMO.

threeMBs 06-11-2014 10:30 PM

Well, actually I'm running now 9.5" at all four corners(e550w4) with 255/35-19 tires. I'm running et42 upfront and wheel/tire sticks out by 3mm (et45 would be flush but would rub on the inner strut) when measured but is not really visible and appears flush; and et35 rear and wheel/tire are flush (due to a slight stretch of 255 tire on 9.5" wheel). Since one should run a correct tire size (which 235/35-19 is not for W212 and especially not for 9.5" wide wheels since it would be narrower than the wheel) and not the one that "fits", any lower front offset than et42 for 9.5" which corresponds to et36 for 9" will result in visible tire/wheel combo being passed the fender line.

Would love to see some pics of your 9.5 up front.

I assume you went with 255/35 rear just to maintain the same tire size all around? Otherwise on stock suspension with 19x9.5/ET 35 rears, which tire size would you recommend so there is no chance of rubbing and flush fitment - 275/30 or 265/35? I'm leaning towards 265/35 for some extra rubber so the ride may be a bit smoother?

Also, for front with 19x8.5/ET 35 - would you recommend 245/35 over 255/35?

Do these numbers apply for 2014 w212 as well?

Yes for 2014 (and all before as well). I found (by trying it, not just by reading about it) that there's no benefit that one can really feel on a road to go staggered for W4 (especially for 350) other than looks. Hence I chose the widest wheel than fits the front (and rear of course) with the widest tire possible.
If you still chose to go staggered, to maintain about the same front/rear diameters you can do 245/35-19 & 285/30-19 (same 25.8" diameter) or with 265/35-19 rear you must stay with 235/40-19 front (close enough 26.3"/26.4").
