2012 E550 - Only comes with airmatic?

I had thought MB abandoned airmatic with the E550 upon the release of the W212, but I keep seeing threads reference it. Is it an option on any year? Does it exist on every year's V8 models?

No it wasn't "abandoned" they just made it an option instead of standard.

You appear to take exception with my choice of wording.. how odd.

Airmatic was standard on 2010 & 2011 W212 E550s. It became optional on V8 cars at some point, but I don't know if that was in the 2012 or 2013 model year.

Thanks. It seems like when looking through used ads online, you might be lucky if they mention it has P2 (a fairly obvious package), but I imagine they don't even bother to mention things like airmatic because the average used car dealer (including MB dealers) are clueless about such things.

airmatic standard in 2010 and 2011. It was a special order option for 2012 and 2013

Hey Dub, Are you looking for a used one with airmatic? It really is a nice option to have. Switching between airmatic "comfort" and "sport" is quite noticeable. Also raising the vehicle during minor snow or traversing unpaved roads gives me a little more peace of mind about damage to my front spoiler. The only negatives are what I have seen posted about the repair costs after initial warranty.
