Blind Spot Assist

Hi,
Is there an after market blind spot assist available? If yes, where can I get one? Thanks for your assistance.

There are a few. Goshers uses sonar sensors which look similar to the back up systems and requires you to drill additional holes in the bumper plus I believe the range is not as good.

Blis is the one I went with. Started the install and hope to have it ready over the weekend. It uses radar sensors which supposed to have a longer detection range which is the main reason i went with this model.

The sensors is attached to the side mirror (like the volvos) and the nice thing about our mirrors (at least the 2011) is that it already has a spot that can be used for the sensor.

I have been taking some pictures and will post a complete DIY once I am done.

Here are some shots of the left side, it looks better than in these pictures. with better I mean they are not very visible when you are walking up to the car, you really have to look for them in order to see them.

Thanks for sharing. How much it costs, what is the brand/name? and where did you buy it/install it?

Yup. If you see the side of your car or if the side mirrors overlap with you center mirror, you are doing it wrong.

Takes a bit of getting used to, but it eliminated blind spots.

don't know why folks don't try this......saving themselves from being
overtly dependent of technology

I could see this on say a Lamborghini Murcielago or some other exotic with extremely difficult rear view capabilities, but on your generic Mercedes?, no way. Adjust the mirrors outward and stop looking down the side of the car.

Where can I get the BLIS system in this thread

Know I’m probably 8 years late but like the pictures and would like to install. Anyone know where to get this?

I added a small fish eye mirror to my driver's side rear view- works great and less than $5.00 @ Walmart.

In the 70's I installed a mirror on the front driver's side fender on my 220D just like all the German taxis.
