Keyless Go minus start/stop button

Hi everyone. Just picked up a 2011 E550 sport package last week. Pretty sure it came with P2 with the bi-xenon headlights, keyless go door handles, power trunk lid, led running lights, etc. Except I don't have a start/stop button. I still start the car with the key. I was reading in the manual that you can remove the start/stop button and use the key instead. So I'm think that is what the previous owner might have done or maybe the car came without it originally.

I'm wondering if it is simple enough to replace that start/stop button or if anyone has done it in the past. It's Sunday, so I can't call MB to ask, but was wondering if anyone out there has seen this before. Thanks in advance for any answers!!!

I assume that the button just takes the signal from the keyfob and repeats it, so I'd think you can just get a replacement.

2014 E550-sold 😩
There is nothing special about the button. It is simply a button that is easy to remove. You can buy them on eBay. I am not a fan and keep the button in my console and use the key. Old habits I guess.

I use the button all the time. But after reading this thread I did remove it out of curiosity. Very easy.
